Marley Eternit launches mixed brindle

Marley Eternit is expanding its market leading clay product range with its latest innovation, a new mixed brindle single camber clay plain tile with unrivalled environmental credentials. The Acme Mixed Brindle has a red brown base and weathered appearance to create a true brindle colour that is ideal for both refurbishments and new builds alike.

The new Acme Mixed Brindle tile has been developed to offer specifiers, contractors and merchants a quality, cost effective, brindle clay plain tile in a traditional single camber. Sarah Jackson, marketing product manager for Marley Eternit, explains: Each of the new Acme tiles has subtle variations from light to dark, giving them an authentic brindle effect. These subtle mixed brindle clay plain tiles offer wide ranging but delicate differences of hue and colour, so that although every individual tile is different, together they create a harmonious beautiful roof.

The Acme Mixed Brindle also boasts impressive environmental credentials,How to change your dash lights to personalizedbobbleheads this is how I have done mine. with independent carbon certification, a very good rating under the BES 6001 Responsible Sourcing standard and an A+ rating in the BRE Green Guide to Specification. The Mixed Brindle is the latest addition to Marley Eternits popular clay plain tile range, which now offers a selection of 21 different colours and textures to enable design versatility. Marley Eternits investment in clay tile manufacturing means that it has the largest clay plain tile production capacity in the UK.You benefit from buying oilpaintingreproduction ex-factory and directly from a LED manufacturer: This includes the evolution of a palette range boasting 21 unique colours,Give your logo high visibility on iccard! the widest range within the UK market, and an unrivalled choice of fittings and accessories. This makes the comparison between Tile and Protag inevitable. Aside from the fact the both use Bluetooth Low Energy and have similar functions, theyre pretty different beasts.

While Tile is all hype for now, Protag is already being sold in more than 10 markets in Asia-Pacific. It has also partnered with regional distributors to sell its products in airports, electronic stores, and through telcos. Also, the philosophy behind the design and business model is different. Tile is smaller and cheaper it costs USD 18.95 each but the tradeoffs include needing to replace and pay for the device every year.

That may not necessarily be a bad thing, since receiving a new tile is probably the equivalent of getting a new hardware upgrade, kind of like trading in your old phone for a new one when you re-subscribe to a mobile phone plan.So while Protag is bulkier and more expensive it retails at USD 79 it could supposedly last for years. While it may be cheaper in the long run, it could scare off consumers whod find the upfront cost too intimidating.

The company in 2011 won a two-year, $1.4-million loan from the Atlantic Canada Opportunity Agencys innovation fund, which it used to commercialize its Stepscan footprint analysis technology. The company has now produced a commercial product and sold one to the University of Prince Edward Island for its new Concussion Screening and Return to Play Evaluation Program. And Vitrak has about 10 potential customers that have asked for quotes.

People are requesting quotes now, but we have quite a long sales cycle, said Crystal Lavallee, CEO of the company, adding that researchers need to get quotes, then seek funding, then order the product. Shes encouraged by the interest. The Stepscan Pad is a pressure-sensitive tile, measuring four square feet, thats placed on the floor to analyze the gait and footprint of anyone who walks on it. The tiles on which Vitrak has received two patents can be connected and arranged in lines or as squares of up to 400 square feet.

The company is now taking orders for its product for the medical and scientific markets, and has several applications in this space. For example, William Montelpare,Learn how an embedded microprocessor in a graniteslabs can authenticate your computer usage and data. the Margaret and Wallace McCain Chair in Human Development and Health at UPEI, plans to use the pad to assess whether someone has suffered a concussion. People suffering from brain trauma will sway when standing still, and the Stepscan can measure the swaying motion and determine immediately whether they are concussed and should seek treatment.

Lavallee is now shopping the completed Stepscan at trade shows around the continent. She attended the Gait and Clinical Movement Analysis Society meeting in Cincinnati, Ohio, in May, and next month will travel to the American Society of Biomechanics annual meeting in Omaha, Neb. She attended the biomechanics meeting last year with a basis prototype, and is looking forward to demonstrating a full product this year.

Immigration reform would bring program benefitting Africans

They dont need specialized job skills or even a relative in the U.Did you know that plasticcard chains can be used for more than just business.S. What they need most is a little luck, and to be from a country with few recent immigrants living in the U.S.

The Diversity Visa, better known as the Green Card Lottery, is a little-known program inside the U.S., but is played by millions of people worldwide each year. It was established in 1990 to diversify the immigration population in the U.S., designed, in part, to help more Irish settle in the United States. With superior quality photometers, light meters and a number of other iphoneheadset products.

Over the past two decades though, the complexion of lottery winners has become noticeably darker. Today, about half of visa winners come from Africa. This argument, though, isnt convincing most leaders in Congress. Many Democrats have quietly turned their backs on the Diversity Visa, giving it up as a bargaining chip.

Republicans, like Rep. Bob Goodlatte from Virginia, have been more outspoken against it. Goodlattes office turned down an interview request, spole against the Diversity Visa on the House floor last year.We are one of the leading manufacturers of cableties in China

Mark Krikorian, the executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies in Washington, agrees with that. He said the Green Card Lottery is ripe for fraud, and that terrorists could steal a winning lottery number and enter the U.S. illegally.

Plus, he said, immigration policy should not be based on national origin.

And so what the (Congressional) Black Caucus seems to be saying is somehow that (ending the Diversity Visa) is unjust because they want more people who look like them in the immigration flow, Krikorian said. And what Id like to know is how is that different from someone saying, Well, I want more white people immigrating to the United States. Its exactly the same thing.

But Democratic Congresswoman Yvette Clarke, who represents Brooklyn in the House of Representatives and is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus,Other companies want a piece of that smartcard action challenged people to look at the population of the nation.

Clarke said any new immigration law must include a dedicated flow for African and Afro-Caribbean immigrants. Currently, Africans come to the U.S. in three primary ways: asylum seekers, family visas, and the Diversity Visa program.

We want to be sure that this nation is not one that doesnt continue to welcome people of African descent and that it is comparable to what we do for others coming from around the world, Clarke said.

Its not comparable right now, argues Sylvie Bello, the founder and CEO of the Cameroon American Council in Washington. Bello said the immigration bill includes programs designed to benefit Asians, Latinos and European immigration, such as 10,500 visas annually set aside for Irish immigrants. But theres nothing specifically for Africans.

Theyre taking us back to the Jim Crow era when we could only come to this country through special programs, Bello said. Yes, some of us will qualify for the STEM visa, but it was not created with us in mind. Yes, some of will qualify for the DREAM Act, but it was not made with us in mind. Yes, some of us may qualify for the agriculture visa, but it wasnt made with us in mind. The only visa type that has a high proportion of Africans that come through is the Diversity Visa.

Far-reaching immigration legislation cruised toward passage in the Senate as House Republicans pushed ahead Wednesday on a different approach that cracks down on millions living in the United States illegally rather than offering them a chance at citizenship.

Presidential politics took a more prominent role in a long-running national debate as Sen. Marco Rubio,We printers print with traceable cleaningsydney to optimize supply chain management. R-Fla., tried to reassure conservatives that many of the criticisms of the bill, which he helped write, are "just not true."

The potential 2016 White House contender said in remarks on the Senate floor it has been difficult for him "to hear the worry and the anxiety and the growing anger in the voices of so many people who helped me get elected to the Senate and who I agree with on virtually every other issue."

Supporters posted 67 votes or more on each of three procedural tests Wednesday, far more than the 60 needed to prevail. More than a dozen Republicans sided with Democrats on each, assuring bipartisan support that the bill's backers hope will change minds in the House.

At its core, the legislation includes numerous steps to prevent future illegal immigration, while at the same time it offers a chance at citizenship for millions living in the country illegally.

It provides for 20,000 new Border Patrol agents, requires the completion of 700 miles of fencing and requires an array of high-tech devices be deployed to secure the border with Mexico.

Businesses would be required to check on the legal status of prospective employees. The government would be ordered to install a high-tech system to check on the comings and goings of foreigners at selected international airport in the United States.

Public-safety network gets trial run

For the telecom world, the biggest lesson of the GOP convention wasn’t political — it was that a nationwide interoperable broadband network could actually work.

The convention in Tampa, Fla., marked the first time law enforcement personnel were able to use the type of system envisioned by policymakers since the Sept. 11 attacks highlighted critical weaknesses in first-responder communications. Vendors and public safety officials hope the lessons can be applied nationwide.Browse the Best Selection of buy mosaic and Accessories with FREE Gifts.

The communications system used during the convention, which relied on several vendors and often used off-the-shelf technology, allowed coordination for the public safety network over some 15 jurisdictions, all for a high-profile event that had the added complication of a passing hurricane,Our guides provide customers with information about porcelain tiles vs. public safety and industry officials involved in the effort told POLITICO.

Sgt. Dale Moushon of the St. Petersburg Police Department intelligence unit said it allowed police to operate faster and more efficiently than they could have using their old-style primary system.

“From an operational perspective, it’s huge,” Moushon said. “To be able to communicate that much data with the Tampa P.D. or the Clearwater P.D. is a huge help.”

Moushon said the network put law enforcement on the same footing as the bad guys who now use all the fancy, high-tech gear that is commercially available. Police officers in departments like his often use their own personal equipment for texting and other such applications, even though it’s unsecured.

“I could text the same information to the next jurisdiction, but it’s off the grid,” Moushon said.

A consortium of companies, including Cisco, Raytheon, Nokia Siemens Networks, Reality Mobile and Amdocs proved for the first time in Tampa that the multivendor interoperable Public Safety LTE network could work.

It also was the first time federal, state and local first responders have simultaneously used a 700-MHz D-block broadband network for what is called a National Special Security Event. The network was deployed under special temporary authority from the Federal Communications Commission.

In effect, it provided a field trial of a multivendor integrated LTE system in advance of the $7 billion deployment of the National Public Safety Broadband Network, said Kevin McFadden, Cisco’s customer solutions and business development manager.

“It was a first look at First Net,” McFadden said. “It helps us understand where First Net needs to go.”

“Communications is critical during such a large-scale event as the Republican National Convention,” 2012 Republican National Convention CEO William Harris said in a statement. “Thanks to our partners and official providers, we had complete interoperability between the convention leadership team and our security planning partners on the federal, state and local levels, which allowed us to have a safe and successful event.”

Using the system, security officials were able to get a high-definition look at a parking citation and use facial recognition to determine that a rowdy individual was just that.

“To be able to see that in HD quality in real time allowed the detective to determine there was not a threat and move on,Different Sizes and Colors can be made with different stone mosaic designs.” Harris said.AeroScout is the market leader for rtls solutions and provide complete wireless asset tracking and monitoring. “This just opens up a world of [possibilities] for the cop on the street for what the technology can do.”

Afghan army still far from accessible to go it alone

Taliban advertising has approved to bulb the angle that because it works with adopted forces, the Afghan National Army accept to be a agnostic one. So if villagers see his soldiers bead to their knees in mid-patrol and recite the circadian prayer, they're surprised, says Lt. Col. Abdul Wakil Warzajy, a army commander. "Until they see us praying," he says, "they anticipate that we are like the foreigners — infidels."

From the Soviet aggression of 1979 through the afterwards civilian wars, from the acceleration of the warlords and their militias to the U.S.-led aggression that followed the 9/11 attacks, accustomed Afghans can almost bethink accepting had an army they could alarm their own.

Once the adopted troops are gone in 2014, Afghanistan's defenses will depend absolutely on a force getting molded from ailing accomplished recruits, abounding of whom accuse of activity under-armed, undertrained and up adjoin an ambiguous enemy.

An Associated Press anchorman and columnist afresh spent two weeks with four altered units in ambit breadth the Taliban is strong, and heard of accessories shortages, rifles that jam, and fears that already the U.S. and NATO aircraft are gone, limited and important outposts will become aloof and accept to close.

And alongside abounding affirmation that Afghan commanders are alive harder to brainwash conduct and a faculty of mission in the new force, there are fears that already the Westerners accept left,Find a rubberhose Manufacturer and Supplier. the country will afresh splinter into militias disqualified by warlords.

At 203 Thunder Corps in eastern Afghanistan's Gardez Province, soldiers accept to leave their weapons at the gate. That's because renegades a part of them could advance NATO soldiers — 26 dead in 19 incidents this year, by AP calculation — but aswell because in an army that reflects the country's circuitous of battling ethnicities, an altercation could amplify into a firefight.

Abdul Haleem Noori, a colonel in his 60s who remembers the old Afghan army of the 1980s,Drive Metric impactsocket Set at Harbor Freight Tools, said training acclimated to endure months. Now it's six weeks.

"Today we accept no discipline. There are 240 distinct solutions of the Soma cubepuzzle, If a soldier doesn't wish to go about he doesn't," he said in an account at the Thunder Corps base. "We should not accept been searching for quantity. We should accept been searching at the superior of our soldiers but we had to attach to the calendar of the foreigners and now we are not ready."

U.S. Gen. John Allen,Every moldmaker job on the web. the top administrator of U.S. and NATO forces, told the AP that the Afghan army and badge force were proving added able in action. About 90 percent of affiliation operations now are partnered with Afghan forces, and Afghan armament are in the advance added than 40 percent of the time, he said in an account July 22.

The army is acceptable to amount about 200,000 by year's end, but that's not enough, said Lt. Yaldash Roasoli, an Afghan soldier continuing alfresco the 203 Thunder Corps battlefront range. "Even in 30 years we cannot be ready," he complained. "If you asked me what a appropriate action is I couldn't acquaint you. That is the affectionate of training we accept had."

The new force's commando units accept been activated in high-profile Taliban attacks in the accomplished year, including one on the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, and accept won top acclaim from the Afghan government and the U.S. ANA commanders say they are alpha to win the assurance of villagers, who adopt the soldiers to police.

But Mark Schneider, chief carnality admiral of the International Crisis Group that is tracking Afghanistan's aegis effort, says overall, a decade of training and $35 billion accept collapsed abbreviate of expectations. "It is traveling to be a difficult action to accredit them to be the hand-off partner" for the abandonment Western forces, he said in a blast interview.

For the Afghan army, just anecdotic the adversary is a difficult task.

As a force moves into the apple of Noor Khiel in eastern Logar province, Warzajy,Alfa plast mould is plasticmoulds Manufacturer and plastics Mould Exporters the army commander, is wary. A adept of the civilian wars, a above babysitter to a fabulous warlord, he knows if he's in Taliban country, and this is an breadth area troops accept appear beneath rocket blaze and automated rifles are accursed from central apple homes.

For now there are no insurgents in evidence, but as Warzajy credibility out, if his troops move in, the Taliban move out. "Sometimes they don't even leave. They aces up a advertise and say they're just innocent farmers."

The apple is a admonition of Afghanistan's 30-plus years of agony. Some of its houses were austere out continued ago as continued ago as during the Soviet occupation. A 25-year-old soldier called Qadratullah block through a broad carapace aperture in a broke house. "I don't apperceive if it was destroyed," he says. "All I apperceive is, it was one of the wars. Always there has been war in Afghanistan."

The troops accept set up a checkpoint. A gray-bearded man in a chock-full car is gesticulating wildly. He pleads with Sgt. Maseed Ahmed for his son, a shopkeeper, who he says was best up afterwards two policemen died in a Taliban advance on a checkpost. He insists his son has no affiliation with the Taliban. Ahmed sends him to the army address breadth he can get advice to acquisition his son.

The teams anecdotal their adventures during their dream interviews with science drillmaster Dr. Josette Biyo, prima ballerina Lisa Macuja-Elizalde, Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, abettor Manny V. Pangilinan and Rappler authentic editor Maria Ressa.

Three teams allocation achievement what they’ve abstract from their summer arrangement with their dream VIPs. The added two teams, Malayan High School of Science and Quezon National High School, will acquire their changeabout in attainable issues.

The multiawarded science drillmaster from Iloilo, Dr. Josette T. Biyo, accustomed us an annual for the Inquirer-WAN-Ifra My Dream Annual contest.

We abstract so abounding from her—not abandoned about best practices in teaching science but, added important, about values. Dr. Biyo is a woman of actualization and abounding faith. Her amore for excellence, applause for plan and allegation to annual say it all.

Being in a allowance for two hours with anyone abounding can change your perspective. If we larboard her office, I said to myself: “This is the affectionate of accepting I ambition to be.”

She showed me that my dreams and aspirations could arise authentic if I actually basic them. Her antecedent advancing and motivated her to do the best not abandoned for herself and her ancestors but aswell for society. Annual is added attributes to her. She has a abounding amore for teaching and I abstract that acquirements is the best way to apperceive how to teach.

Dr. Biyo helped me acquire that action is not afterwards difficulties. You could not adeptness the top of a affluence if you did not acquire the backbreaking climb.

Dr. Biyo able me that apparent did not actualization weakness because it adapted courage to cry. I abstract that, while you could not consistently acquire the simple way out, God would consistently be by your side. This page contains information about tooling. Marie Louise B. Boncan

We chose Dr. Biyo because a planet was alleged afterwards her. Also, she is an amazing teacher. Teachers like her acquire a big appulse on our lives.

This bogus me reflect: “Could I anytime applause God this much?” I activate myself adverse this life-changing canon of faith.

Another appointment she accumulated with us was this adduce from Mother Teresa: “We are not achievement to do big things, but we are achievement to do babyish things with abounding love.”

After the interview, I able that this angel was actually great. God was so affectionate to abounding it with loving, amative and admirable bodies like Dr. Biyo. I apprenticed to do one big thing: Put applause in all the things that I do.

I aswell abstract abounding about teamwork. I abstract how to allocation my annual and, at the above time,Trade organization for suppliers and distributors in the promotional products industry. be a able listener. Karen Racelis

As the girls would say, acquirements is a two-way street. I aswell abstract from them during the process.

Dr. Biyo broke into tears as she anecdotal her difficulties and trials in life. That moment was absolute melancholia and was actually a acquirements associate for me.

Often, we acquire to achieve boxlike decisions about plan and family, about belief and dreams. It takes a lot of adventuresomeness and actualization to leave aback a able action to achieve a abnormality in the lives of accoutrements of boyish people.

Tomb Raider Preview

Video games may not have been around for as nearly as films have been or even classic literature, but there are a few characters as iconic as protagonists like Hamlet or film icons like Han Solo. Characters like Link and Mario are timeless video game characters who have manage to stay relevant as the years have gone by. One character who in a lot of ways broke a few of the longtime molds of the video game industry was none other than Lara Croft, the star of the Tomb Raider franchise. For nearly twenty years Ms. Croft has entertained us but now she faces her greatest adversary: a major video game reboot that essentially changes everything we once know about the dual pistol wielding, shorts wearing femme fatale adventurer.

As close as Lara Croft and the Tomb Raider series may be to our gaming hearts,TBC help you confidently buymosaic from factories in China. the fact that the series is being rebooted once again wasn’t exactly something that people were excited for. After rebooting the series twice in one generation with Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness and Tomb Raider: Legend, I think gamers were slightly burned out by the franchise but didn’t officially want to say adieu to Ms. Croft for good. So here we are, almost at the end of the current console generation with a new rugged take on the Tomb Raider franchise set for release that may or may not eclipse a certain other video game adventurer to become our go-to game for cinematic action-adventure goodness.

Like some of the other games I saw at E3 this year I sadly didn’t have any hands-on time with the new Tomb Raider reboot. This page is an introduction to 35 pages of material on mathematical magiccubes. For whatever reason Square Enix may have had, the game was merely being shown in a behind closed doors capacity with a demo showcasing a sizeable chunk from the first act. As a gamer that grew up playing the Tomb Raider series and who may or may not have had a crush on a digital character as a young lad I was certainly a bit bummed that I couldn’t get any hands-on time but was nonetheless excited to see what the team at Crystal Dynamics was doing with the game.We are the largest producer of projectorlamp products here.

Over the last year or so we’ve seen quite a bit of Tomb Raider such as that breathtaking CG trailer from E3 2011 and some simple gameplay snippets that featured a version of Lara that moaned at nearly everything.About 1 in 5 people in the UK have recurring coldsores. But at E3 last week I managed to see that while Crystal Dynamics is doing some entirely new things in the Tomb Raider series they’re still going to give us what matters most: a game ripe with adventure and plenty of moments to feel like a hero. What are hemorrhoids?

The E3 2012 presentation for Tomb Raider started off in a rather traditional way with Lara overlooking a beautiful vista. With the setting sun reflecting in the water and crashed ships jutting out in a jagged yet beautiful way, the tone of the demo was solid from the get go and it helped that the visuals managed to convey a certain sense of awe. But once Lara began to move and traverse the terrain it was obvious that this isn’t the same Lara or Tomb Raider that we’re used to. Running near the cliff of a mountain path Lara constantly held the side of her stomach with one of her arms, no doubt because crashing on an unknown island will cause a busted rib or two.

What was interesting about the notion of an injured Lara was that it was conveyed through her animation of her bracing her stomach as opposed to merely having -25HP yet moving like she’s an Olympic class sprinter. In some ways it was nice to see a version of Lara that wasn’t a complete super being of some kind as she seemed like a regular flesh & blood person that was indeed susceptible to injury as opposed to being the distant cousin of Wonder Woman. Even better, I appreciated the level of detail Crystal Dynamics seems to be putting into Lara’s character model, both through her animation for certain levels of battle damage and for when she finds herself slightly dirty after exploring certain areas.

Arburg focuses on efficiency at Spring event

Production efficiency was the focus of this year's technology days event in March organised by injection moulding machinery producer Arburg. European Plastics News reports from the company's Lossburg headquarters,This page is an introduction to 35 pages of material on mathematical magiccubes. in Germany.

Arburg defines production efficiency as an overarching "meta theme" determined by eight key elements; injection moulding machine technology, mould technology, ancillary equipment (peripherals), equipment configuration, process integration, process control, production planning and product design.

The company's four-day open house in March attracted over 5,200 visitors, 43% of whom were from abroad, with 200 from Switzerland, around 160 each from France, Poland and Czech Republic and 140 from the US.

Some 2,700 visitors attended presentations by Arburg (on production planning), Leoben university from Austria (on injection moulds),Bathroom floortiles at Great Prices from Topps Tiles. The inline InkBOT process presented by automation specialist FPT Robotik was also shown running live,Save up to 80% off Ceramic Tile and porcelaintiles. producing two-part, individually printed polystyrene name badges with 20s cycle time for two badges in a 2+2-cavity mould.

A 60-tonne Arburg Allrounder 370E 600-170 electric drive injection moulding machine, which was equipped with a Kuka 6-axis articulated "industry" robot integrated with Arburg's Selogica control system, were key elements of the production cell, as was the integrated inline printing system.

FPT Robotik developed InkBOT in 2010 and previously showed a similar version running at Fakuma 2011.

Arburg says: "The integrated finishing process for the plastic parts means injection moulders can increase added value and respond quickly to new demands in relation to changes of motif, thus giving them a competitive edge."

In the presentation by FPT, sales and project manager Karl-Heinz Msder described the InkBOT process as giving "naked" plastic parts not only an individual "face", but also a more pleasant tactile feel.

InkBOT uses the Cyconjet UV curing combined primer, four-colour (yellow, magenta, cyan and black) ink and topcoat developed for industrial inkjet processes by Mankiewicz in Hamburg, as used, for example, in Konica Minolta KM512MH print heads. The margin-free 600dpi resolution printing can be applied as four available drop sizes in 4-14 pica litre sizes, with height difference up to 6mm, as with the curved name badge.Rubiks cubepuzzle.

Print motif selection can be made up to 500 milliseconds before printing and up to 250MB of digital data can be transferred to the print heads within 500 milliseconds. Overall capacity is 1.8GB for a maximum 1.5m2 image.

With printing speed of up to 0.8m/s, the inline system at Arburg ran at 50m/min inline with capacity of 250m parts/year. But InkBOT inline systems can work up to 100m/min and can be dynamically adjusted. FPT Robotik says that InkBOT production cells may also integrate labelling, assembly, packaging and quality assurance processes.

In the presentation of Prof Clemens Holzer of Leoben university on waste minimisation, he said this is only really possible with sensors. But expensive pressure and temperature measurement sensors need to be further developed to reduce costs and encourage greater use for closer tolerance control.

New sensor types should also monitor other process variables. These could include sensors for viscosity and shear stress such as the PolySens sensor developed with project support under the Research Studio Austria scheme.

Holzer described a concept for installing ultrasonic acoustic sensors in existing mould tools to send melt-front data by wireless. He also recommended actuators close to the mould, such as the Priamus-Fill actuator, to reduce waste and obtain more consistent part quality. This is achieved through compensation of filling differences, maximum pressure limitation, targeted valve gate nozzle opening and simultaneous volumetric filling.

Such "intelligent mould" techniques should enable processors to cope better with the tendency of biopolymers to have more widely fluctuating characteristics than conventional polymers, Holzer suggested.

He said improved demoulding of microstructure mouldings can be obtained with mould coatings chosen depending on the polymer used, as well as by use of variotherm dynamic temperature control. Aside from other known advantages of variotherm moulding, such as higher gloss surfaces, hiding weld lines and reinforcement fibres on surfaces, Holzer referred to other benefits, such as reduced shrinkage and warpage, faster cycle time for thick-wall parts, higher strength and easier moulding of thin-walled components.

In particular, a peripheral wall of up to 250μm becomes a problem in microstructure surface replication, due to high temperature differences between the melt and mould wall, and this can be solved by variotherm processing, said Holzer.

Showing examples moulded by Arburg, Holzer advocated core back moulds for multi-component moulding. Polymers are overmoulded without opening the mould by simply using hydraulic sliders to open and close part of the mould cavity. Greater energy efficiency is obtained this way by eliminating mould opening for the secondary components.

To her friend, merry widow seems to be obsessed with herself

Eight months ago, after a brief illness, my 57-year-old friend's husband passed away. Their marriage had always been a bit rocky, and after his death we learned that he'd been involved in some questionable activities. Needless to say, her emotions ran the gamut from disbelief to anger to grief.

During this time, I was there for her to listen, care and encourage, and supported her decision to seek professional counseling.Full color plasticcard printing and manufacturing services.

But now I'm concerned she might be moving too quickly through this process. In the past five months, she's had cosmetic surgery, lost a lot of weight, traveled internationally and moved into a new home. My friend is an exceptionally bright woman, and far more capable than most. She tells me, "Life is short, and I've decided to be happy." She's excited about potential summer romances with men she's meeting online. Our conversations are now 95 percent about her: her new body, all the men who are smitten with her, how great her job is, her new house and how much fun she's having. She shows little genuine interest in my life, which I suspect she considers a bit boring.

While I'm truly glad she's not miserable, our time together has become intolerable. We offer you the top quality plasticmoulds design Her self-absorption and lack of insight into how others might react to so many radical changes so quickly are perplexing. I briefly expressed some of my concerns, but her response was,Find everything you need to know about kidneystones including causes, "Would you rather see me as a maudlin, grieving widow?"

Is it possible to power through so many life changes so quickly without collateral damage? And how can I handle my discomfort in spending time with her?

You can stop conflating your dismay about her rudeness with concerns about the appropriateness of her recovery.Proxense's advanced timelocationsystem technology.

She had her disbelief, anger, grief and counseling. Now, she's having a party. If that sums up her emotional progression accurately, then I don't have much to say about it - except, good for her.

If there's more to it, if she's suffering, unmoored, overcompensating and headed for trouble, then that's obviously a concern; laying on the distractions is one common response to grief. However, she hasn't asked you - or me - for an opinion. Until you see some sign that she's in trouble or you're invited to comment,The core of an indoor positioning system. your place is on the sideline.

Full disclosure: Her "lack of insight into how others might react to so many radical changes so quickly" is a quality I wish I could patent and sell. It's her body, passport, address and life; if only more people were willing to perplex their loved ones with a giddy burst of renewal.

When "she shows little genuine interest" in your life, on the other hand, that's not about the way she's conducting her recovery; that's about the way she's conducting her end of your friendship, and that is your business.

So the answer to your second question, how to handle your discomfort, is to treat it as separate from her merry widowhood. Accordingly, tell her of your frustration without editorializing on her boob job. As in: "I don't begrudge you your new life. It's just that when we talk about it to the exclusion of other things, I feel as if my life no longer matters to you."

Corn researchers develop in-field aflatoxin approach

Scientists at Mississippi State University’s Delta Research and Extension Center are researching new ways to reduce aflatoxin in infected corn.

Corn is one of the state’s leading row crops, but it is susceptible to aflatoxin, a fungus that can reduce profits and hurt marketability.

MSU plant pathologist Gabe Sciumbato and U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Research Service plant pathologists Hamed Abbas and Mark Weaver have obtained strains of the fungus that do not produce aflatoxin.

Sciumbato, a Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station scientist, has been conducting research on aflatoxin for more than 10 years.Welcome to the online guide for do-it-yourself Ceramic tile. Aflatoxins are naturally occurring chemicals produced by the fungi Aspergillus flavus and A. parasiticus.Silicone moldmaking Rubber, The fungi appear as yellow-green or gray-green molds on corn in the field or in storage.

“We are applying granules of Aspergillus flavus that do not produce aflatoxin but do compete with the native Aspergillus flavus. In essence, we are using a good fungus to fight a bad one,” Sciumbato said.

Aflatoxin levels are not normally high in corn, but Mississippi’s hot, humid climate encourages the growth of the fungus that produces the toxin. Heat, drought, high humidity, insect infestation and anything else that stresses the crop favor fungal growth, he said.

Aflatoxin can build up in crops such as corn, cotton, peanuts and tree nuts. Aspergillus infects corn by invading through corn silks or through insect damage to kernels or ears.

To date, methods of reducing aflatoxin infection have included crop management techniques, such as planting early, irrigating, avoiding infected areas and sanitizing equipment. Despite these techniques, grains of many Mississippi farmers have been rejected at elevators because of high levels of aflatoxin.

Onsite screening is done two ways. Blacklight or ultraviolet light tests and commercial test kits indicate aflatoxin presence. Commercial test kits use chemical analyses to test for specific proteins.

The USDA has set rejection levels for aflatoxin in corn at 20 parts per billion or greater. An individual kernel of corn can contain 400,000 ppb aflatoxin, so one infected kernel in 20,000 could lead to the shipment being rejected.Glass Tile and Glass Mosaics for less at the glassmosaic Outlet. Contaminated corn is sold at much lower prices.

Some rejected corn is used in livestock feed,Where to buy or purchase plasticmoulds for precast and wetcast concrete? which the Food and Drug Administration still screens. Corn containing aflatoxin also can be used to make ethanol or to make anhydrous ammonia for agricultural use. However, the aflatoxin is a toxic waste, and its disposal is expensive.

“Because corn is used in so many products for human consumption, we have been working to increase producer profits while maintaining food safety,” Abbas said.

Government guidelines keep aflatoxin contamination a low-level threat for food supplies in the country. At Blow mouldengineering we specialize in conceptual prototype design.

Using non-aflatoxin-producing A. flavus strains has the potential to protect much of the state’s corn harvest, Sciumbato said.

In 2011 corn ranked fifth in agricultural production in Mississippi. Last year the state’s farmers planted about 810,000 acres in corn.

Poland’s Boryszew bids for auto supplier Ymos

Acquisitive Polish industrial group Boryszew continues to grow its automotive components business, staking a claim to the production assets of another insolvent German parts supplier Ymos.

Boryszew has made a binding offer to purchase the German and Polish plants of Idar-Oberstein-based Ymos. It is a leading manufacturer of plastic, galvanised and chrome-plated car door system components for handles, hinge and locking systems.

Ymos also makes other metal and plastic auto parts. Its main customers include VW, Audi, Daimler, Bentley and Rolls Royce. The firm recorded 2010 revenues of around 80m but went into bankruptcy in August 2011.

Boryszew is one of three bidders for the YMOS assets which it believes will contribute to its continued rise to become a significant global auto components manufacturer, the Polish group said in a statement.

Earlier this year, Boryszew scooped up Theysohn Kunststoff, a key German parts supplier to VW, and its mould making partner from Austrian precision component group HTI High Tech Industries.

In August, the Sochaczew-based group agreed to pay 6.7m to purchase assets of insolvent German plastics auto parts moulder Altmrker Kunststoff-Technik (AKT), including a Czech plant.

In 2010, Boryszew had bought the insolvent Italian automotive tubing producer Maflow International Group.

Boryszew is considering constructing two automotive part production plants in Russia via two of the businesses it recently acquired, Maflow and AKT. In the first nine months of this year, the Polish group posted a net profit of 24.5m, up from 13.8m for the period in 2010, on sales of 710m, a 41% gain over last year.

A Fresh Wash

Pregnant clouds, cool breezes, the pitter-patter of rain, a newly washed sky and an abundance of greenery! Monsoon is truly a magical time. The sky may be dreary and grey, it’s true, but the sombre mood doesn’t need to cast a cloud over your home and hearth. If the wardrobe gets a change with the season, why shouldn’t home decor get one to drive away monsoon blues?

Colour me bright. Colour affects a person’s mood, emotions and health. Each colour permeates an energy all its own and —by stimulating the pituitary and pineal glands—can influence thoughts, behaviour and the endeavour to work. So bye-bye dull colours that make a room damp and drab. And hello deep red, sunny yellow, sea green, aqua blue, hot pink and tangerine orange. Since big-ticket jobs such as painting and wallpapering are best put off till after the monsoon, consider adding streaks of colour across the house—perhaps a change of curtains, a zippy new rug, some cushions to perk up the sofa set? Drape bright fabric across your sofa or get your neighbourhood tailor to sew vivid slipcovers. You’ll see that the addition of colour to any room can transform the atmosphere.

To get your living room rain -ready, clean and put away heavy carpets, and bring out light rugs and durries. A moisturising clean-up may be a good idea to keep your leather furniture supple and safe.

Bring out the accessories. Colour doesn’t have to be in big patches only; small spots, courtesy accessories, work well too. Think vases, pots, paintings, photo frames, candles and so on. Bring out the metalware—brass and copper tend to add a spot of shine and cheer to a room. Put away the blues and blacks when it comes to bed linen; opt for bright bedspreads in a variety of hues, designs and textures. Floral prints in bold colours create a spring-like feel despite the rainy weather. Heavy draperies and curtains can be put away in favour of sheers and lace. Ensure that the lighting creates a warm atmosphere—soft yellow lights create a mellow ambience that goes with the pitter-patter of rain. Don’t forget colourful flowers—in vases, glasses, mugs and tureens—to create a happy atmosphere.

The moisture-laden air tends to make wooden floors warp. Give them a thorough cleaning, followed by a coat of wax.

Green the verandah. The monsoon is the perfect time to transform your balcony into a green haven. Pick up the right planters—clay, terracotta, concrete, ceramic or plastic. The pots should be large and should have drainage holes at the bottom. Choose a general-purpose potting soil at your local nursery and seek the gardener’s help when choosing plants. The decision depends on the amount of sunlight and shade the balcony gets, the height each plant will reach, the amount of space, and how green-thumbed you are! Don’t miss planting herbs such as basil, mint, coriander, lemongrass, curry leaf and aloe vera. Consider a water feature such as a fountain, bird bath or flowing water sculpture. We list a few important fixes that you should consider to get your house rain-ready:

Begin with the most important thing before the rains—waterproofing of the roof. In case exterior walls are showing signs of seepage, get them repaired. Don’t miss tile joints in bathrooms and kitchen.
Wooden floors tend to warp owing to the moisture-laden air. Give them a thorough cleaning, followed by a coat of wax, before the monsoon sets in.
Roll up rugs in polythene and store them away until the rains are gone. This will protect from water and insects.
The best way to protect upholstery, rugs and soft furnishing, from the damp is to give them a good airing in the sun before the monsoon sets in.
Carpets need extra care if you aren’t putting them away—you need to tackle dirt and the moisture that finds its way into the fibres. Invest in a good quality cleaner.
The rainy season tends to bring out termites in droves. Check the house for signs of an infestation; if you spot one, get it tackled professionally.
Ventilation is essential during monsoon to keep your home free of humidity and the feeling of dampness. Ensure there’s enough cross-ventilation, fresh air and sunlight coming in.
Keep mildew away by ensuring areas (specially bathrooms and kitchens) are clean and dry. Keep doors open to ensure the rooms dry out thoroughly.
If you have a huge collection of books, keep the space spotlessly clean to keep away silverfish, cockroaches and book lice. Controlling moisture and dust discourages the growth of fungus, mould and mildew.
Clean up the windows to ensure a great view. Put away the heavy curtains, bring out the lace and sheers, and fancy tiebacks (ribbons, strings of shells, beads and brooches) to let in the light.
Perhaps it’s time to invest in a tumble dryer to ensure that your home doesn’t get damp and musty, thanks to the numerous clothes that need drying space.
To avoid a musty closet, store camphor (it soaks moisture) amid your clothes. Neem leaves keep silverfish at bay.
Create scented sachets for your closets—the mix of herbs, dried flowers, essential oils and spices lightly scent your clothing and take care of the stale smell. A quick do-it-yourself recipe: fill small muslin/cloth bags with cloves, dried orange peels, dried flowers, herbs, and spritz with a dab of essential oil!
Create a nautical corner in an open area —put together a water body, some sea shells, a model sailboat and some sea salts. Add some aromatherapy candles.
Put up a couple of rain chains, a beautiful outdoor home accent, in your verandah or terrace. The water flowing through decorative cups and links is gorgeous as is the melodious sound they produce.

A few checks and you’ll be all set to enjoy steaming hot cups of chai and pakoras by the window seat. Let the showers come down, but don’t let the monsoon rain on your parade!
