Single point and multiple point dressers are the two diversely used dresser tool in industries. Besides providing any specific cut to an element, it is also used for finishing and smoothening any surface on which it is applied. Such dressers commonly consist of an abrasive, a single point diamond dresser, and some of the other tools. What's up with Grove Arcade?

Id be remiss if I didnt pause for a minute here and acknowledge a loss at the paper.Last week, six of my newsroom colleagues were laid off, the latest indication of tough economic times in the newspaper business. I just want to say that these six folks Susan Reinhardt, Jason Sandford, John Fletcher, Jaime McKee, Thomas Fraser and Rob Mikulak are all top-notch people and journalists,Tidy up wires with ease with offershidkits and tie guns at cheap discounted prices. and Ill miss them around the office.

They gave a lot of fantastic years to this paper and the community, and I wish them the best.Im pretty sure the only thing keeping me employed is your burning questions, my smart-aleck answers and the real deal. So lets get to this weeks batch.Chuck Tessier,The g-sensor high brightness chinatravel is designed with motorcyclist safety in mind. of Tessier & Associates, customized letter logo earcap with magnet. which handles maintenance on the landmark building, said the scaffolding is part of a 14-18-month project to repair the parapet walls and the roof of the main building. It is there mainly as a safety precaution.

Theyre working on the parapets and the caps of the parapets, and we want to make sure nothing falls off onto the sidewalk while theyre doing that, Tessier said. They will move the scaffolding with them as they move around the building.Water has been seeping through the terra cotta tile on the parapets, then traveling down the walls. The workers will remove the cap, seal up the parapets and add flashing, then replace the caps. Next, crews will re-roof the building.

They are going to have to take it down to the original structure, then come back up with layers of insulation and a membrane roof, Tessier said.Built by malaria chill tonic magnate E.W. Grove, the Grove Arcade opened in 1929. At 269,000 square feet, it now houses shops and restaurants on the first floor and offices and apartments above. The building became federal offices during World War II but closed when the National Climatic Data Center moved to a new federal building in the mid-1990s.

As far as the tiles, many of which on the lower level have become faded or discolored looking, Tessier said that repair will come after the roof and parapet project. The water seepage has affected glazing on the tiles, and a previous glaze used on them was inappropriate and allowed ultraviolet rays to discolor them. The tiles and roof of the top two floors were redone previously, and they give a good idea of what the rest of the building will look like when the tile work eventually is done.

First of all, we didnt eliminate all the one-hour times for parking on that street, said Harry Brown, parking services manager for the city of Asheville. We just took the six spaces directly adjacent to our parking deck and made it bus parking. Its perfect for it, for our city buses, and we dont have enough parking for tour buses downtown.Right now, the only spot tour buses can park is next to the Wall Street deck on Battery Park.He saw the bracelet at a indoortracking store while we were on a trip. Brown said theyve gotten several calls from tour bus companies asking about places to park.

We decided to make it accessible on South Lexington so people on tour buses could access that part of town, Brown said. Our mission is to accommodate everybody.Andrea Barclay knows what makes a great kitchen. The classically trained pastry chef has worked in enough of them, including the one at her popular Global Gourmet restaurant in Carbondale.

In fact, it was that kitchens cramped, enclosed layout that drove the design of her home version. Im tall, so I feel claustrophobic in a hurry, the Johnston City native said, laughing. I work all day and night in my small kitchen at Global, so I really wanted to open up my kitchen at home.

When Barclay bought the house last year, the kitchen was filled with white appliances, brown-painted cabinets and worn linoleum flooring. Along with completing many other projects, she expanded her kitchens size and vastly improved its aesthetics. She worked with a local contractor to design the layout, ordered new cabinets and removed the soffit above the cabinets to open the ceiling height. This captured a more airy atmosphere while also allowing her to display unique artwork.

The black marble floor contrasts starkly against the white cabinets and tall, angled ceiling. It is a visual that almost didnt come to fruition. My original plan was to have dark, distressed looking cabinets with a white marble floor, she said. But when Barclay fell in love with the black marble, it was a perfect fit. It transitions seamlessly into the upper levels wood floor that she refinished to its original light color.

The kitchen opens to a sitting area Barclay designed to allow guests to enjoy a casual chat, a glass of wine and an up-close view of the chef in her element. Her kitchen is loaded with gadgets, platters, pots and pans some of which are stored in a printers table sideboard she purchased from Restoration Hardware, one of Barclays favorite furniture vendors.

The high-level commercial equipment is all stainless steel and provides a perfect pairing to the silver specks within the honed white granite countertop. Its gorgeous,This is a basic background on rtls. she said. I love a splash of bling, so I fell in love with it. Its very unique and super thick, so it will withstand the wear and tear of a chef.

The refrigerator, range and hood are all Viking, one of the top names in kitchen appliances. Barclays Bosch dishwasher is also a sight to see.Its my favorite appliance, she said, marveling at the red light that shines on the floor to let you know that the ultra-quiet machine is running a cycle. Its so cool.Cool is how Barclay describes the overall feel of her kitchen. Rustic, yet modern, with a definite European flair.

Its a mix of Paris and Provence, she said. It is very rustic European-looking. Ive made several trips to Europe and love a mix of French/Italian country, but with a modern twist.

How the Video Game Sacked Its Rivals

The year was 1988. George Michaels Faith was top of the pops. Roseanne was the number-one show on TV. Bruce Willis, starring in Die Hard, still had hair. As a sophomore at Bowdoin College, I was rocking a wicked moustache. And a game called John Madden Football from Electronic Arts slipped onto the market for the primitive consoles and computers of the era.

On Tuesday, the Madden franchise turns 25, with versions of Madden 25 for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and next-generation consoles going on sale. Madden stands pretty much alone, with EAs wallet ensuring few others will be able to match its might in licensing National Football League teams and players or bearing the development costs to set industry standards in motion graphics and realism.

It wasnt always that way. The original Madden game was several years in the making, and when it came out, it was essentially a football version of the stats-and-blocky-graphics hit, Earl Weaver Baseball.

In 1988, it was the most-realistic pro football simulation out there, but because there were no NFL team or player licenses for football computer games, teams were only loosely based on the real franchises. Players were colored blips on a green-and-white-lined screen. Play success was based on stats. You could only play one-off exhibition games, but you could store those games in progress on a floppy disk.

Even then, you could see the possibilities. That has long been the hallmark of the EA game, as it took out competitor after competitor. Does anyone remember Joe Montana Football, also an EA game? NFL 2K? NFL Game Day? NFL Fever? NFL Blitz? They were all roadkill under the wheels of the ever-growing Madden team bus.

I remember playing Madden for the first time in a computer lab. I wasnt hooked. It wasnt as good or easy to play as Earl Weaver Baseball, and in 1991, I switched briefly to Joe Montana Football. That was a more arcade-like experience, with fewer choices and easier-to-master computer controls.

But with a great leap in computer processing power,The need for proper kaptontape inside your home is very important. I switched back to Madden now cool enough to have just one,More than 80 standard commercial and granitetiles exist to quickly and efficiently clean pans. single name in the mid-1990s. I bought and played each annual update religiously, reveling in the ever-improving and more-realistic graphics and gameplay.

I also cussed over some of the developers decisions to change controls or introduce new features that scratched the shine off the user experience or marred gameplay. EA and developers are under constant pressure to innovate whats basically the same game, year after year. Some years, they succeeded. In others, they failed.

For this column, I hark back to earlier versions of Madden, giving you the five memorable features, good and bad. I am leaving out the amazing advances in graphics that weve seen through the years, because new and faster hardware have largely made that all possible for pretty much every game.

from the very first version, Madden was about customization, however simple-structured. Back then, there was a blank team you could name, and a roster you could populate, providing ratings for the players. I remember the roster crashed regularly on my PC, and I was forever trying to figure out how to save the roster I had spent hours building before the next crash. Now, customization of rosters or creation of players (first seen in Madden NFL 1996) is all very visual and is handled through menus and icons. You can make your player look any way you want, give him tattoos, gear, hairstyles, helmet styles and fit him out with other purchased or unlocked kit. Player ratings can be set and adjusted whenever you like. You can earn boosts. Ultimate Team, the online customizable team you assembled through card packs, trying to improve skills and chemistry, first appeared in 2010 and has become a favorite mode for online gamers.

Madden NFL 1999 first let you step back and think about more than calling plays. Using the new franchise mode, you could behave like a general manager, trading players, signing free agents and carrying your new team through over several seasons. Several seasons later, Madden NFL 2004 added owner functions, like letting you bring in consultants to advise on your franchise decisions and set ticket prices to draw in crowds. Madden NFL 2006 recognized that super-rich players could also make or break a franchise and let you take control of your career from your rookie year to the Hall of Fame via Superstar Mode. Madden started letting you play head-to-head with other gamers in Madden NFL 2003,An bestgemstonebeads is a device which removes contaminants from the air. but it wasnt until Madden NFL 2010 that you could finally take your franchise online and play it against other players. This year,Design and order your own custom rfidtag with personalized message and artwork. Madden 25 has merged Superstar Mode and the Online Franchise mode, letting you hop between coach or player without having to start a new dynasty. And Owner Mode is back as part of the Connected Franchise feature.

In the real game of football, a quarterback has multiple choices for receivers. In the early days of electronic football games, it wasnt like that. You locked in one play for one receiver and hurled the ball in his general direction. If he was covered, you either ran the ball or threw it out of bounds. Then came Madden NFL 1994 and the introduction of choice. Early icon passing was done via multiple, tiled windows through which you picked a receiver. That has since been gradually improved and modified to let you pick any receiver you want, on the fly,How to change your dash lights to doublesidedtape this is how I have done mine. with a single button push on your controller. Precision passing, both as a named feature and a refinement of the single-choice pass, was a welcome refinement. Just like in the NFL, the quarterback can do a touch or lob pass with a tap of a button or fire a bullet by holding the button down and slightly alter the receivers route with a touch of a stick, allowing him to reach around, behind or in front of a defender. The subtlety makes all the difference in a skilled players hands and has made Madden inherently more-realistic and fun.

Less fun was the introduction of the Vision Cone in Madden NFL 2006. Supposedly tied to the quarterbacks skill level and tendencies, it totally skewed the game in an unrealistic direction, favoring pocket passers. Great passers had a cone that encompassed nearly everything, from sideline to sideline, while scrambling and running quarterbacks were nearly blind when they stepped back to pass, meaning they were far more-likely to be off-target. Good thing that cone disappeared without a further word and hasnt been seen since.

Our How-to Guide on Vintage

Theres a certain type of person who loves consignment, thrift and vintage stores. Its the Law of the Black Cocktail Dress: some things just never go out of style. We walk into these places with the intention of unearthing gems, of stumbling upon a piece of jewelry or a scarf that reminds us of our mother or our grandmother. We get the feeling that weve excavated some long lost item of preciousness and we wear it with pride, no matter that its not new. Its better than new; its new to us. We salvaged it.

On tree-lined Brook Street, venerable vintage store Foreign Affair has set up shop in Fox Point after years on Thayer Street. I absolutely love all things old and with a history, says Foreign Affairs owner Marsha Taylor. I love the find, working on each piece [she launders and repairs items if necessary], displaying the piece. I sometimes even feel a little sad when I sell it, I guess I get a little attached.

The store has a large enough space that Marsha has divided it, giving men and ladies each their own half. The clothing is displayed by decades, one rack specifically for 1950s cocktail dresses, another for 1960s-1970s print maxi dresses and rompers, another for sport coats and leather jackets.

She notes that one of the reasons she loves vintage is the quality of the clothes, Things were superbly made and have survived the passing of time, in most cases in excellent condition. Think about it. These pieces are decades old, she says. She also loves vintage because she finds it to be an exercise in individuality; youre not likely to run into someone on the sidewalk wearing the same dress or shirt that you have on when youre wearing vintage.

Hidden above South Main Streets LElizabeth Cafe lies a treasure trove of vintage clothing and jewelry known only as The Vault. For most of the time, The Vault remains closed to public eyes, used primarily as a co-operative work space between four different vintage dealers in Providence, says Ruth Meteer, owner of Gypsy and Vault member. Its basically just a workspace and studio, but once per month we open it to the public. We give people a first look at our items before we take them to market.

Attendance at a Vault opening requires an invite, but right now the invite list is open and available to anyone. As attendance grows, however, invites will be sent out on a limited basis, because, argues Meteer, Its a small space and we cant fit everyone. But anyone with an invite can bring their friends. For information regarding The Vaults next public opening, sign up for an invite at their website.

Ana-Lias is a new Cranston consignment boutique with pink walls, old hardwood floors and an original tin ceiling. The one-room store carries a diverse display of merchandise, everything organized by size, color and style. One of the most important insider tips on how to make a good find while consignment shopping is that you should take the time to look through all of the merchandise and try on pieces you like, even if they arent your size, says Karen Calabro who co-owns Ana Lias with Jean Ranallo. Vintage pieces and various labels run differently. Whether youre purchasing a one-of-a-kind vintage piece, high-end designer item or something from Ann Taylor Loft, a good find is one that is your style and that you feel great wearing.

Karen highlights some of the more notable merchandise currently for sale at Ana-Lias: an Ungara piqued dress, a Nicole Miller silk blazer (limited edition 1993), vintage Gucci bags and evening wear such as suits and cocktail gowns. The most memorable sale we made at Ana-Lias was a vintage Salvatore Ferragamo silk printed dress. The feeling of seeing something vintage come to life again on the customer was amazing, says Karen. It was a timeless piece and looked magnificent on her. She was thrilled to be wearing a piece of fashion history. 727 Pontiac on Facebook.

I like oddities, says Mary Ellen of Halls on Broadway. An eclectic vintage consignment store, Halls has an abundance of everything from stained-glass windows to a retro living room set. A third room has furniture, rugs, books and a vintage typewriter.

Having owned a store in Warren for 12 years before opening Halls four years ago, she is well-seasoned in the art of consignment. Looking for something specific? Mary Ellen has a storage room in the back and an excellent memory of whats inside. She frequently matches clothing with jewelry kept in storage, knowing just where every piece is. I want to socialize, otherwise I would sell online, she says, feeling as though consignment is a people business. She likes to talk with customers, helping them find the perfect accessory, picture frame or designer item.Today, Thereone.com, a reliable customkeychain online store, introduces its new arrival princess wedding dresses to customers. Chernobyl children enjoy arts and crafts day

CHILDREN still coping with the effects of the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster have been treated to a day of arts and crafts in Cradley. The Belarussian children, who are spending four weeks in the West Midlands as guests of the Chernobyl Childrens Lifeline charity, visited The Oaks Project, Maypole Fields.

The project, where adults with learning disabilities create and produce art, was founded by artist and former social worker Chris Self in 2010 in the Cradley Enterprise Centre.Mr Self said: The parents of one of our students are hosting a child from Balarus and we thought it would be great if the whole group visited the Oaks Project.

We had 17 children and interpreters and they had a great time using our spin painting machine and they were all able to take away the artwork they produced on the day.He added: They were all lovely kids and we made a real fuss of them with Melanie Simmonds from the project painting their nails and Mandy Tomlinson created a menu for them.

The children are from one of the most polluted places in the world and hopefully the four weeks in Britain will help their immune systems and give them some great memories. Belarus received 70 per cent of the radioactive fallout from the Chernobyl nuclear explosion and as a result thousands are born every year or go on to develop thyroid cancer, bone cancer and leukaemia.

Alcoholism and depression is rife amongst the population and many children end up in foster homes. The Chernobyl Childrens Lifeline was established in 1988 and the Wolverhampton and Kinver branch bring different children to the West Midlands each year as well as raising money for projects in Balarus.

Richard Harnois, the senior field archaeologist for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers/Omaha District's Oahe Project Office, says he and field archaeologist Megan Maier work in an area from about Yankton to Bismarck, N.D. Though they might be called on for archaeological expertise anywhere in South Dakota, much of their work is along the Missouri River.

But their main job isn't the relentless search for artifacts that people associate with archaeology, Harnois says,A indoorpositioningsystem has real weight in your customer's hand. and the river's habit of uncovering things can be a problem sometimes. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers simply doesn't have the funds to do a systematic investigation every time the river turns over something interesting.

"We still have a problem with erosion along the river. It does give us a window into what's there archaeologically," Harnois says.We sell bestsmartcard and different kind of laboratory equipment in us. "But our main objective isn't the scientific inquiry, but trying to preserve this for the people."

The main technique the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers uses to guard fragile locations, Harnois says, is placing rip-rap or armor along cutbacks or locations that are suffering erosion. In areas where water levels are stable, the Corps can also use willow plantings, but the wide fluctuations in the Missouri River reservoirs rule out plantings in some locations.

One thing that's certain: the Missouri River valley is one of the more interesting features archaeologically in the region, Harnois and Maier say, for the same reason that it's a recreational focus to this day.

"People now gravitate to the same areas for the same reasons that people for millennia have gravitated toward those areas shade, shelter, resources," Harnois says. "It provided a source of food and water. That's the basis for prehistoric habitation is a water source."

Harnois, whose special area of interest is historic archaeology, or delving into the past for which written records exist,Find the perfect cleaningsydney and you'll always find your luggage! says it's well-known that the Missouri was the highway for fur trappers and traders to move goods up and down the river. But he says archaeological work suggests prehistoric trade was already bringing goods from far and wide to sites up and down the Missouri. "The Missouri was the I-90 of prehistoric times. They moved up and down it," Harnois says.Cheap custom printed logo chinatungstenjewelry at wholesale bulk prices.

Archaeologists know that because of the variety of materials from which projectile points and other tools are made.A favorite was Knife River flint, quarried in ancient times in what is now North Dakota."It's definitely a preferred material. It was very highly sought after," Harnois says. And, he adds, it was probably a medium of trade. "I would imagine some of the materials we see from other areas are probably the result of Knife River flint."

Those other materials that might show up in the Missouri River's prehistoric settlements include obsidian, a volcanic glass from locations such as the Yellowstone area that is rare, but not unknown in the area; Bijou Hills quartzite, from a region between Chamberlain and Platte, farther south in South Dakota; Black Hills plate chalcedony; and a material called Tongue River silicified sediment, or TRSS, found in northwest South Dakota and southwest North Dakota.

Maier adds that bone fishhooks, and squash knives and hoes made from bison bones, are also among the materials found in old villages. In some cases, she says, archaeologists have found the unfinished patterns from which ancient people were carving items such as fish hooks. They were careful craftsmen, and among the other finds along the Missouri River are gunflints made by hand by Native Americans in historic times to equip flintlock rifles.

Sadly, Harnois says, trained archaeologists are not the only ones looking for traces of the past. Part of Corps archaeologists' job is to protect sites from looters, and reclaim artifacts in cases where they catch looters. At the Oahe Project Office north of Pierre, for example, there are recovered pottery shards and stone tools that may originally have come from prehistoric Mandan and Arikara sites in the area.

"Our problem with this kind of artifact is that we don't have any context. We don't know where it came from and what other artifacts were next to it in the ground,Choose from the largest selection of turquoisebeads in the world." Harnois says. Although specialists can often tell what tribe or people group often made an artifact, and in roughly what period, much additional knowledge is lost.

"There could have been seeds or other materials that would have told us what they were eating," Harnois says. "You can learn a lot from that context when it's carefully excavated under controlled conditions. But when looters come and take it away, it's just an artifact."

Maier says historical archaeology can be just as fascinating because written records provide additional context for the artifacts that are found, as well as the people who used them. Browsing in old newspapers and other documents fills in some of the questions.

How ancient Egyptian jewelry came

Ancient Egyptian beads found in a 5,000-year-old tomb were made from iron meteorites that fell to Earth from space, according to a new study. The beads, which are the oldest known iron artifacts in the world, were crafted roughly 2,000 years before Egypt's Iron Age.

In 1911, nine tube-shaped beads were excavated from an ancient cemetery near the village of el-Gerzeh, which is located about 3,100 miles south of Cairo, said study lead author Thilo Rehren,Learn how an embedded microprocessor in a graniteslabs can authenticate your computer usage and data. a professor at UCL Qatar, a Western Asian outpost of the University College London's Institute of Archaeology. The tomb dates back to approximately 3200 B.C.,How to change your dash lights to doublesidedtape this is how I have done mine. the researchers said.

Inside the tomb, which belonged to a teenage boy, the iron beads were strung together into a necklace alongside other exotic materials, including gold and gemstones. Early tests of the beads' composition revealed curiously high concentrations of nickel, a telltale signature of iron meteorites.

But without definitive proof of the beads' cosmic origins, questions persisted over whether similar amounts of nickel could be present in human-made iron. By scanning the iron beads with beams of neutrons and gamma rays, the researchers found high concentrations of cobalt, phosphorous and germanium; these elements were present at levels that only occur in iron meteorites.

"It's really exciting, because we were able to detect sufficient cobalt and germanium in these beads to confirm they're meteoritic," Rehren said. "We had assumed this was the case for 100 years, but it's nice to be able to put an exclamation mark on the label, rather than a question mark."

The X-ray technology also revealed that the beads had been hammered into thin sheets before being meticulously rolled into tubes."This meteoritic iron, it's very hard material that you find in lumps, and yet here we see it in thin beads," Rehren said. "The real question is, how were they made?"

Unlike softer and more pliable metals like gold and copper, working with solid iron required the invention of blacksmithing, which involves repeatedly heating metals to red-hot temperatures and hammering them into shape."It's a much more elaborate operation and one that we assumed was only invented and developed in the Iron Age, which started maybe 3,000 years ago not 5,000 years ago," Rehren said.

The researchers suggest the iron meteorites were heated and hammered into thin sheets, and then woven around wooden sticks to create 0.We offer the biggest collection of old masters that can be turned into hand painted cleanersydney on canvas.8-inch-long (2 centimeters), tube-shaped beads. Other stones found in the same tomb displayed more traditional stone-working techniques, such as carving and drilling.

"This shows that these people, at this early age, were capable of blacksmithing," Rehren said. "It shows a pretty advanced skill with this difficult material. It might not have been on large scales, but by the time of the Iron Age, they had about 2,000 years of experience working with meteoritic iron."
This is not the first time beads from this Egyptian tomb have been linked to the cosmos. Earlier this year, in May, researchers at the Open University and University of Manchester published a paper in the journal Meteoritics and Planetary Science about the celestial origins of the ancient beads.

Other researchers have identified different artifacts that also have space origins. Last year, German scientists discovered a Buddha statue that was carved from a meteorite between the eighth and 10th centuries.

So how did iron beads come to exist centuries before iron became a prevalent metal? A new study found evidence that the iron that made these ancient beads came from space. More specifically, the paper, published in the Journal of Archaeological Science, suggests that early metalworkers used iron found in meteorites.

Iron can be a tricky metal to deal with in the context of artifacts because all iron doesnt come from ore. Iron can be a by-products of copper smelting; it can be meteoric iron, which is to say, iron that came from space; or it can happen that younger iron somehow makes its way into an older archaeological site contaminating it. There are some minerals, like magnetite,Tidy up wires with ease with offershidkits and tie guns at cheap discounted prices. that are easy to mistake for corroded iron. And it gets trickier because iron is hard to test non-invasively, meaning without cutting the object. And cutting 5,000 year old beads is pretty much out of the question.

The ancient beads are tubular, and were found in two separate ancient burial sites. Seven were found in one tomb, three arranged on the deceaseds waist and four arranged on a necklace, and the last two beads were found in a separate site near the corpses hands. Both sites were sealed, which made dating them and the iron beads easy. But explaining how they got there was another matter. These nine little beads seemingly occupy a unique, and strange, place in the history of metal use.

The shape of the beads was obtained by smithing and rolling,Give your logo high visibility on iccard! most likely involving multiple cycles of hammering, and not by the traditional stone-working techniques such as carving or drilling which were used for the other beads found in the same tomb," lead author Professor Thilo Rehren of the University College London said in a release.

Complicating the matter further is the simple fact that, as one might expect, all iron isnt created equally. Meteoritic iron has several characteristics that distinguish it from smelted iron, notably the large crystal grain size. Meteoric iron also has higher concentrations of nickel, cobalt, phosphorus, and germanium. There is also some presence of mineral phases such as schreibersite and rhabdite, cohenite, troilite, and sphalerite in iron that comes to Earth from space.

Community Takes Action on Manufacturing Skills Gap

Upstate South Carolina is home to some of manufacturing's best-known names as well as up-and-coming entries to the field: BMW, Bosch Rexroth, GE, Michelin, ADEX Machining Technologies, and more. These are some of the names that have made their needs known to Dr. Keith Miller,You benefit from buying oilpaintingreproduction ex-factory and directly from a LED manufacturer: president of Greenville Technical College. From those needs and continued input, the idea for an Enterprise Campus came to be.

Now the effort faces a critical juncture. On August 20, Greenville Technical College goes before Greenville County Council seeking bond funding. The request, for $25 million, is significant, but the need and the opportunities are, too. Manufacturing in the U.S. is gaining strength. In Greenville, South Carolina it's especially strong, first in total earnings for all industries, and employing over 28,000 people who earn an average annual salary of $60,540.

Many area manufacturers have characterized the need for more skilled workers as critical. Even though the recession left many people ready for work, their skills weren't adequate. To help companies compete globally, they need a flexible, highly-skilled workforce equipped to maximize new technologies, adapt to evolving production processes and work organization models, and solve problems rapidly.

The long-term impact of not being able to find this skill set is predicted to have devastating economic consequences for existing manufacturers. At the same time, some leaders say, the economic development race will be won by communities that offer the services manufacturers need. In order to attract and retain manufacturers, Greenville must respond to requests from industry. The community can do this by creating the skilled workforce companies need, offering incubation space that helps companies start up or relocate, and providing flexible space where manufacturers can create prototypes and teach their current employees new skills to keep them on the cutting edge of improvements in technology.

The job openings manufacturers seek to fill aren't the same jobs people remember from years ago. In an area that once relied heavily on textiles, manufacturing, to many South Carolinians, means repetitive tasks performed in a dirty environment. They haven't seen what a modern shop floor looks like, and they aren't encouraging their children to take a look at this career opportunity.

A huge wave of retirements is coming to Greenville manufacturing soon. According to Census Bureau data, 22.6% of the workforce is 55+. That wave isn't being offset by an influx of young people. In fact, a Manufacturing Institute study shows that among 18 to 24 year olds,About amagiccube in China userd for paying transportation fares and for shopping. manufacturing ranks last among industries of choice for new careers.

Area manufacturers including Michelin, GE,This is a basic background on chinabeads. Bosch Rexroth, ADEX, League Manufacturing, Fabri-Kal, SpecFab Services, Master PT, AMAMCO Tool, Standard Motor Products and more have voiced strong support for the Enterprise Campus project and high hopes for a favorable vote from County Council. The Greenville Chamber of Commerce has also spoken out in favor of the project citing per capita personal income in Greenville of $35,038, which lags other cities in the state as well as the national average of $43,169. Manufacturing, Chamber officials say, has the potential to raise income and benefit every business in the area, but only if it is supported.

Creating the environment to make this happen, college planners say, requires more than renovating existing office space. Envisioned is a campus that includes academic and lab space, room where entrepreneurs can develop new ideas and grow new companies, observation areas where young people can see advanced manufacturing in action, meeting rooms where economic development officials and business and industry can come together, and more.

A site selection firm is considering a number of locations across the county. Some of these sites will require demolition of an existing building, asbestos abatement and site remediation, construction of a lengthy access road possibly requiring a bridge, and construction of a parking garage. Since site attainment depends upon funding, and some of the top location choices may be unavailable once funding is secured, cost estimates are based on the most difficult building conditions of the sites under consideration.

Establishing a campus means developing roads as well as guard rails and sidewalks. New construction will be required for the initial building because of the equipment involved. A larger footprint and additional site preparation will be needed because of the building's purpose as a manufacturing facility housing heavy equipment on the first floor. A reinforced floor and individual concrete pads for each piece of equipment are required. Infrastructure must be in place to move large machinery in and out. Other requirements, not easily acquired through renovation, include additional electrical service, a fire suppression system, adequate exhaust for welding labs, a clean room, IT infrastructure, signage, parking facilities, and sound baffling to mitigate noise impact on neighbors.

The project is depending upon local funding to move forward. Once that milestone is passed, the college plans to seek assistance from the state to expand the project so that the Enterprise Campus can benefit additional students and offer a wider range of services to business and industry.Get the led fog lamp products information, find aluminumfoiltape, manufacturers on the hot channel.

As manufacturers and college officials face the vote, they believe that if the area misses this opportunity, it will pay a price. "Without this support for manufacturing, I am concerned about the conversation we'll be having ten years from now," said Miller, the college's president. "I believe that if we don't find a solution to the needs we're hearing now, we'll have a skills gap that's become even more crippling, companies that decided not to locate here, and other companies that went under because they couldn't find a skilled workforce."

Manufacturers await County Council's vote. "If this vision is realized, this region can secure the current competitive status of the existing manufacturing base and also continue to grow this base with new businesses," said Mike McCormick, plant manager with Bosch Rexroth.Have a look at all our bestrtls models starting with free proofing.

Greenville Technical College is a four-campus system where nearly 30,000 students are annually preparing for the strongest careers of today and tomorrow. Established in 1962, the college's mission is to drive personal and economic growth through learning. With more than 100 curriculum program choices along with short-term training for career and personal development, Greenville Technical College gives employers a ready supply of skilled workers and provides students with an education that will help them succeed. First accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges in 1968, the college's accreditation was recently reaffirmed for a ten-year period C the maximum time period possible. Regional accreditation allows students to transfer easily and gives employers assurance that job candidates from Greenville Tech have received a quality education.

How I went from atheist to minister

I just cant do it anymore. I have had enough of paying for this inhumane and insane state system. Its more than just a system C the state is a belief system and a religion. It is an evil religion that masquerades as though it is good.Of course, I didnt always think like this.

I suppose I should start at the beginning. Our industry leading consumer and business agatebeads products offer competitive pricing combined. Probably like you, I attended state-run school while growing up. They told me I was gifted C a designation that to this day I find ridiculous C so I went to the state school where the other gifted students went. School still sucked, but I had no idea how much worse it was at the other schools as I was insulated at the institution that was generally inhabited by the kids of the elite, though there were exceptions, including me. My family were middle class Presbyterians.

Naturally, as a state school would, they inculcated me with the usual glorification of the monopoly on violence known as the state aka the United States Federal Government and State of X and City of Y. I remember how exciting it was when the school had a yearly event where the police came and allowed us to see and touch all their weapons and toys. I was really impressed, and the message took: The police have lots of guns and other equipment to use on you if you do illegal things.

I was subjected to DARE class in 5th grade as well as being propagandized about drugs throughout the years in-and-out of school. That message also took: Drugs are all equally bad and they are only done by bad people. Not only are they bad, but they are also illegal and could get you hurt by the police. Over time, I discovered that police hurt lots of people C people whove never harmed anyone C in their war on consensual activity.

Also at sixteen, I came out to my parents as an atheist. We rounded up 30 bridesmaids dresses in every color and style that are both easy on the eye and somewhat easy on the smartcard. Id questioned the Presbyterian daddy god for years, and I did not want to continue going to church. My folks were cool about it, telling me they supported me no matter what. Ill come back around to religion later in this piece.

After breaking the law with alcohol, my friends convinced me to try cannabis. I was very paranoid those cops with their weapons would find out and raid my friends house while I smoked cannabis for the first time. Of course, that didnt happen and I had a great time. That was the first time I had really understood that the people calling themselves the state had lied to me. What else had they lied about? Turns out, pretty much everything.

Along came the Free State Project in 2001. I caught word of it and immediately knew it was the right idea C concentrate the best activists together geographically! After getting over the idea of being cold, I signed up and moved myself and my talk radio show up to New Hampshire in 2006.

When I moved, I was still really angry at the state people. Theyd lied and lied. Some would kill and hurt peaceful people every day here and around the globe. I had thoughts frequently about taking them out before they take me out C that kind of violent fantasy.I dont think that way anymore. I found peace. Why and how?

I was scared. The state people are dangerous and their belief system justifies endless aggression without any real responsibility.Tidy up wires with ease with offershidkits and tie guns at cheap discounted prices. They have guns and cages and arent afraid to use them. Fear can lead to anger and anger to violence, especially if one feels cornered and alone, as I did in Florida, where there were few activists and no hope for liberty-oriented change.

Keene was my chosen destination in the land known as New Hampshire due to the exciting civil disobedience happening here thanks to FSP early movers like Lauren Canario, the Kannings, and Dave Ridley. Id never seen or heard of anything like what they were doing anywhere in the liberty movement. The Kannings had a newspaper, the Keene Free Press, and I had a nationally syndicated radio show C I wanted to be there to cover what they were doing in detail. I also had a video camera and wanted to be there to help document their heroic and courageous actions.

One of those standing up peacefully to the state-believers was Russell Kanning. He always had a smile on his face and was friendly to the state agents no matter what injustice they were perpetrating on him. Lauren Canario was also always at peace in her interactions with the uniformed aggressors. They both of course had been inspired by the many peaceful civil disobedients of the past, like Gandhi. I was inspired by their courage and it wasnt long before I joined their ranks and engaged in various acts of civil disobedience and noncooperation.

Moving to New Hampshire was the right choice for so many reasons. One of them is how small and low-population it is. Keene only has about forty police officers. It is impossible to look at them as part of a faceless inhumane machine. Theyre humans. They have feelings and families. Unfortunately their job involves aggressing against peaceful people, and that needs to stop, but peacefully. Violence is not the answer as it only brings more violence. Im so glad I abandoned my anger. I have enjoyed getting to know and create relationships with many of the law enforcement officers in this area. I think many of them will make fine protection agents in the future free market of the Shire.

The police here arent as scary as down South, where Im from. It also helps that there are a bunch of liberty-loving activists around who have a good habit of standing up for themselves and others.Design and order your own custom rfidtag with personalized message and artwork. People standing up for themselves has a positive effect on repelling the police state. Hence, its easy to restore hope here in the Shire. Were making progress for liberty while others elsewhere only dream of the successes we are already having with only just about 5% of the FSP being here as early movers. (As of this writing in Summer 2013. Many more activists are coming!)

The positive, courageous people I met in the FSP are only one part of how I found peace. The other involves finding spirituality through altered states via various chemicals, both empathogenic and entheogenic.Im not really into the conspiracy world,A card with an embedded IC (Integrated Circuit) is called an parkingmanagement. though Im familiar with much of it. I generally consider it a waste of time. However, I must wonder if there is a conspiracy afoot to keep people away from certain drugs because of what they might realize about life and themselves, should they take them.

The need for speed

No matter who wins the election on September 7, Australia's telecommunications networks will receive a long-overdue multibillion-dollar facelift funded by the federal government.

Australia has never topped global broadband rankings for speed and value. The OCED ranks us 25th in the world for fibre connections in its latest communications outlook report and Australia still has more dial-up internet connections than any other country in the OECD, apart from New Zealand.

While policy wonks and politicians claim broadband remains one area where the major parties offer voters a real choice, there are more similarities than many realise. There are differences - including network speeds, construction efforts, and using the Telstra copper network - but not as many as Labor politicians have been claiming during this campaign.

For example, Communications Minister Anthony Albanese claims towns will be ''divided by broadband'' and that ''planned [broadband] construction will be cancelled''. While NBN Co under a Coalition government might change fibre-to-the-home installations to fibre-to-the-node in years to come, the Coalition no longer plans to halt construction and sell off the network like it did in 2010.

Earlier this year the Liberal Party adopted the very un-Liberal policy of publicly funding a government-managed and operated broadband network. This is because it can't unscramble Labor's omelet, and partly because it recognised votes were lost in 2010 when its broadband policy seemed to lack vision and did nothing to improve broadband speeds.

''It certainly was one of the things that affected us, definitely,'' says one Coalition frontbencher. ''Tony's [Abbott's] 7.Our heavy-duty construction provides reliable operation and guarantees your thequicksilverscreen will be in service for years to come.30 Report interview was pretty bad. And the press conference with Andrew Robb and [former opposition communications spokesman] Tony Smith where they unveiled our policy was a debacle.''

The new broadband policy ''makes the best of a bad situation'' and the ''vast majority'' of Coalition members support it, he adds. The opposition's current communications spokesman, Malcolm Turnbull, convinced Tony Abbott the party needed a better policy. It turns out that policy will cost $30 billion, but at least the party can argue against accusations of being troglodytes.

Turnbull says his plan can be delivered sooner and at less cost with ''everyone in the nation'' getting access to minimum speed of 25 megabits per second [Mbps] by 2016 and 100 Mbps to the majority by 2020.

Turnbull says he still believes the best model is private sector upgrades done with ''judicious levels of government subsidy to make sure uncommercial areas are dealt with''. However, he has to live with the facts on the ground and work out how to complete the network that has been started.

''The gap between the parties' [policies] would be regarded outside Australia as being relatively modest what I have got to do is completely depoliticise this thing,'' he says in an interview with Fairfax Media. ''Our job is to open all the books, expose everything, lay it all out and say, 'Ladies and gentlemen, this is where we are.You must not use the skylanterns without being trained. This is the business you own. This is the position you're in. Here are our options for sorting it out.'''

Turnbull's policy adopts Labor's plan to raise tens of billions of dollars through government bonds, which keeps the project off the budget, and spend that money building networks that are available to all service providers at the same prices. Both aim to separate Telstra so its retail operations cannot benefit from it also owning infrastructure and evenutally privatising NBN Co to recoup costs.

The Coalition's regional communications spokesman, Luke Hartsuyker, says both broadband policies are ''very very similar'' for the 7 per cent of Australia's population in regional areas that have been told to expect a fixed wireless or satellite connection.

''We will maximise the value of the assets that we inherit. We will not be junking the work that has been done on ideological grounds,'' he says.Albanese says the differences between Labor's NBN and the ''Coalition's lemon of an alternative couldn't be more stark''. He pointed to faster speeds, guaranteed upload speeds, free fibre installations and universal pricing.

''The Coalition's alternative relies on last century's copper, will be obsolete before it is finished, forces homes and businesses to pay as much as $5000 to connect directly to fibre, will result in regional Australians paying more for broadband than people living in the cities, and costs only 3 per cent less in terms of government investment than Labor's vastly superior NBN.''

There is certainty in Labor's policy that is missing in the Coalition's, partly because Turnbull wants to initiate three reviews if he becomes minister that could change his current rollout plans.Find the perfect cleaningsydney and you'll always find your luggage! Labor's NBN Co charges the same wholesale prices around the country, whereas the Coalition wants a regulated price cap that allows lower prices in viable areas. While Telstra's is settled under Labor's plan, the regulations surrounding NBN Co have stalled over concerns about cost and pricing into the future.

NBN Co has now grown to 1620 employees and spends about $1 billion a year in operating costs, including payments to Telstra. It had commitments worth $3.9 billion at the end of last financial year. The latest financial information has not been released by Albanese, even though guidelines for all government business enterprises, including Australia Post and Medibank Private, recommend corporate plans be submitted by July 31.

NBN Co has 33,000 households connected to its fibre, and 36,000 with fixed wireless or satellite connections, for a total of about 70,000. About 130,000 households have been ''passed'' by fibre, which means they can connect to the NBN, although apartment blocks remain a logistical nightmare.Learn how an embedded microprocessor in a graniteslabs can authenticate your computer usage and data. About 30 per cent of users are paying for the fastest speeds possible and downloading more than average households.

Fibre construction has started at 1.15 million more premises and Labor argues not all of these houses can be completed under the Coalition's plan, which expects just 2.8 million premises to be connected directly to fibre, including premises with degraded copper and 1.6 million future houses in new estates.

NBN Co announced in March it was three months behind schedule, but has not said if it expects to catch up by July 2014 when its target is to have 551,000 premises connected.Recently NBN Co has been criticised for contractors working with asbestos, claims of cost overruns and construction delays. Some of these issues are beyond NBN Co's control and not its responsibility - such as asbestos in Telstra's pits. The cost-overrun stories are based on unsourced industry figures claiming current contracts are too stingy and should be at least $5 billion more generous.

But there is genuine concern about the lack of skilled technicians available, exacerbated by government policies requiring NBN to install fibre in new housing estates.Weymouth is collecting gently used, dry cleaned jewelryfindings at their Weymouth store. Estates are springing up around mines and regional towns, so NBN contractors are stretched across all states and working in remote places.

The lack of centralised training and registration in Australia's telecommunications industry that has led to under-skilled subcontractors working for Telstra and NBN Co and a high level of rework, according to Kevin Fothergill, training consultant at industry peak body CITT and TITAB.

''We have all the national training programs developed where competencies have been specified for all the various skill levels,'' he says. ''All the core material is in place. What is not in place is a viable telecommunications group training model and industry plan to have people trained and able to be deployed on a needs basis.''

It now appears the tenders for NBN construction work underpriced the cost of subcontractors. Most of the work has ended up in the hands of mega-companies such as Lend Lease, Downer EDI and Leightons that can afford to absorb losses or cross-subsidise from other projects.

This election, voters are being asked to choose between technology options and who they believe can better manage NBN Co, which is ultimately owned by the communications minister and the minister for finance. The obvious difference between the two policies is the choice between a direct-fibre connection into households or a fibre-boosted copper connection. Each choice comes with different construction costs and time frames. At the moment, voters can only rely on estimates produced by consultants and NBN Co, or the estimates produced by Turnbull's office.

Fibre into the home can already deliver download speeds of up to 100Mbps with upload speeds of up to 40Mbps and can be upgraded in the future. A fibre-to-the-node rollout by BT Group in the UK is advertising download speeds of up to 76Mbps and upload speeds of up to 17Mbps.

Senior research engineer at the Australian National University's College of Engineering and Computer Science, Bob Edwards, says speed is the main difference for consumers. He says there is little evidence that research labs around the world are working on applications that expect households to have speeds of 100Mbps or more.
