Routine Reports, Retreat

But the DDA board’s agenda was relatively light. It did not include any voting items, and consisted of a series of reports and commentary – some of it in preparation for the board’s upcoming annual retreat on Nov. 16.

Sketching out the retreat for the board, Pollay told them that for the first time in the nearly 17 years she’s served as executive director, there is no “next big project.”

A big project the DDA is just completing is the construction of the Library Lane underground parking garage on South Fifth Avenue. The term 'hands free access control' means the token that identifies a user is read from within a pocket or handbag. The construction bills for that project were included in last year’s (FY 2012) budget, but not all of them came in by year’s end. So as board member Roger Hewitt reported, the first quarter financial statements for this year include bills that were originally budgeted for last year. When all the construction bills are paid, a budget adjustment will be made, he said. In any case, he characterized the DDA’s financial position as strong.

The board was also briefed on the public parking system, which the DDA manages under a contract with the city of Ann Arbor. Chronicle coverage of the parking report came earlier in a preview article.

The board got an update on two projects recently proposed for the downtown, which have now undergone review by the city’s design review board, and for which citizen participation meetings have been held: 624 Church Street, next to Pizza House; and 413 E. Huron at Division Street. The next formal step for both of those projects will be submission to the Ann Arbor planning commission.

At the meeting it was reported that the developer of the 413 E. Huron project also has a possible interest in the city-owned properties that are included in the scope of the Connecting William Street (CWS) planning project, which the DDA is overseeing. The board got an update on CWS – the process is expected to result in a recommendation made to the city council before the end of the year.

The board also got an update on the review of an issue that mayor John Hieftje has pushed the DDA to address for the last three years: bicycle riding on downtown sidewalks. For now it looks like the DDA is not likely to move forward on that issue, until the problem is more clearly defined.

Susan Pollay, executive director of the DDA, previewed the board retreat. Pollay told the board that the facilitator for the retreat, Kerry Sheldon,Find detailed product information for howo spare parts and other products. would be meeting with board members in advance of the retreat as well as with other stakeholders to arrive at a framework for the discussion.China plastic moulds manufacturers directory. What are the things the DDA could be doing to achieve its mission – which is to make investments in public improvements to strengthen the downtown area and attract new private investments.

This retreat is a chance to take a step back,Interlocking security cable tie with 250 pound strength makes this ideal for restraining criminals. Pollay said. For the first time in her nearly 17 years at the DDA, there is no “next big project.” So Sheldon is shaping an agenda to allow the board to take a few minutes to think about strategies and then to think tactically about how to implement those strategies. The DDA is really good at some things, she said, so what are those things and how can the DDA do more of them? Another important consideration is to think about what the city of Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor SPARK and other organizations need from the DDA in order for help those organizations be successful.

It had occurred to White that we have schools of architecture for shelter, schools of design for clothing, but what about food services? He allowed that there’s a culinary program at Washtenaw Community College, and a culinary program at Schoolcraft, but those programs, as good as they are, prepare people to be able to put food on a lot of plates in a banquet context,A specialized manufacturer and supplier of dry cabinet, he said – cafeteria and buffet-style restaurants. He described such restaurants as restaurants “with a small ‘r’.” He told the board that he frequently eats at Applebee’s, but described the menu there as “How many different ways can we prepare chicken breasts?”

The restaurants “with a capital ‘R’” are in downtown Ann Arbor, White said, and they’ve become a destination for people in surrounding counties. So how do those people get trained, who prepare food in downtown Ann Arbor restaurants? That food is prepared individually to order from a short menu that changes from week to week. He wondered if it were an apprenticeship program, or was accomplished through happenstance.

So White suggested creating something called the Culinary Institute of Ann Arbor, which he said would become the best culinary institute between Montreal and San Francisco. The word “cuisine” does not refer just to French food, White told the board, but rather it’s using food from the region. He saw the possibility of forming a partnership between Food Gatherers, St. Andrew’s and the Delonis Center, and other sponsors of a charitable nonprofit. [Though it does not appear to be exactly what White is suggesting, Food Gatherers currently operates a Community Kitchen job training program at the Delonis Center, a homeless shelter in downtown Ann Arbor.] That money would be used to purchase the food to be prepared. It would generate very good publicity nationwide for the Ann Arbor DDA, White concluded.

China's solar energy high-flyers defy financial gravity

China’s $US20 billion ($19 billion) solar industry is avoiding loan defaults and mergers by taking aid from local governments, preserving jobs at money-losing companies such as LDK Solar, the world’s second-biggest maker of solar cells.

LDK agreed last month to sell a 19.9 per cent stake to a renewable-energy investor part-owned by the city of Xinyu, home to its headquarters. Suntech Power Holdings, the world’s largest solar-panel maker, got a $US32 million loan in September organized partly by Wuxi, the city where it’s based. The aid helps as the companies prepare to report combined 2012 losses of $US987 million, analyst forecasts compiled by Bloomberg show.

The moves counter efforts by the central government to engineer mergers that create a handful of larger solar companies, said Jeremy Haft, founder of BChinaB, a New York-based consulting company that specializes in Chinese business practices. The country has previously pushed consolidation to strengthen industries such as steel and coal.

Provincial governments mostly want solar manufacturers “to keep the lights on and not lay people off,” Haft said. “There are a lot of people unemployed” in China and local government officials don’t want to see solar factories close up, he said.

Local aid efforts haven’t sparked a rally in LDK and Suntech. They’ve lost 27 per cent and 12 per cent, respectively,Posts with indoor tracking system on TRX Systems develops systems that locate and track personnel indoors. in the last three months, outpacing the 8.4 per cent loss for the 17-member Bloomberg Global Large Solar Energy index over the same period. LDK gained 16 per cent to $US1.04 at 2:34 p.m.Load the precious minerals into your mining truck and be careful not to drive too fast with your heavy foot. in New York. Earlier it climbed as much as 22 per cent, the most intraday since Oct. 27, 2011.Our technology gives rtls systems developers the ability. Suntech rose as much as 19 per cent.

At the same time GCL-Poly Energy Holdings, the world’s biggest solar-wafer maker, has increased 19 per cent in the last three months. The company has been mentioned in Chinese news reports as a possible merger partner.

The China Securities Journal said national government-run China Development Bank is encouraging consolidation between panel makers, pledging financial support for 12 companies. The move may lead other struggling solar manufacturers to close their doors or agree to be bought, the journal said in a Sept. 25 report.

China Development Bank is motivated to keep struggling solar companies afloat, especially those that have borrowed from it, said Melanie Hart, policy analyst at the Centre for American Progress in Washington. The lender is putting pressure on local governments to support companies so they will repay loans, she said.

The bank is telling local officials “we won’t lend anymore to anyone in your region until they pay us back,” she said.

Those local efforts contrast with China’s national goals, which are commonly described as “grasping the big, letting go of the small,” Hart said.Directory ofchina glass mosaic Tile Manufacturers,

Help from local governments may be the biggest obstacle to making China’s solar industry competitive, said Shyam Mehta, solar analyst at the Boston-based consulting company GTM Research.

“Until they stop supporting the uncompetitive manufacturers, this won’t go away,” said Mehta. “If LDK was allowed to fail, the market reaction would actually be positive.”

Suntech is evaluating various financing options and cutting costs, and in September temporarily reduced production in Wuxi, Suntech spokesman Rory Macpherson said in e-mail. He didn’t say whether the company expects additional support from the community. Telephone calls to LDK spokesman Li Longji went unanswered.

The country’s state-owned electricity distributor China State Grid announced incentives Oct. 26 to encourage smaller solar projects, with capacity of less than 6 megawatts, such as rooftop systems. It will buy the electricity and exempt owners from certain fees, which may spur sales at the strongest panel suppliers.

Neither LDK nor Suntech is profitable and both will have trouble paying their debts, according to Pavel Molchanov, an analyst at Raymond James & Associates in Houston. LDK is expected to lose $US518 million this year and Suntech may post losses of $US469 million, according to analyst estimates compiled by Bloomberg.

LDK and Suntech both have balance sheets “so egregious” they would be “imminent bankruptcy candidates if they were American or European,” Molchanov said in an interview. “But they’re not, so we kind of have to look at them differently.”

“Every province, every city, every bank is going to try to protect their vested interest as best they can,” he said.Directory ofchina glass mosaic Tile Manufacturers, “That’s why kicking the can down the road has been the dynamic so far.”

New sign system will help point motorists

Whether people are looking for the water park, nature center, casino or the riverfront, more than 50 new signs are popping up throughout the city to help get them there.

Canedy Sign & Graphics in Cape Girardeau received a $220,000 contract to fabricate and install the wayfinding signage system, Casey Brunke, Cape Girardeau city engineer, said.

Isle Casino Cape Girardeau provided funding for the signage in accordance with a provision of its original development agreement with the city.Posts with indoor tracking system on TRX Systems develops systems that locate and track personnel indoors.

"From early on, Isle has been focused on the revitalization of downtown including the ability to help travelers find their way to both our casino and other downtown attractions," said Jill Alexander, Isle spokeswoman.

Under the development agreement, the casino each month is to pay three-tenths of 1 percent of its gross gaming revenue to the city to be deposited in a Riverfront Region Economic Development Fund. The fund finances improvements intended to benefit downtown commercial and riverfront areas. Seventy percent of the funds must go toward capital improvements, according to the agreement.

The city,Find detailed product information for howo spare parts and other products. We recently added Stained glass mosaic Tile to our inventory. along with the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau and Old Town Cape, has been working on the wayfinding system since 2010, when the three entities received a Preserve America Grant through the National Park Service. About $40,000 of the $126,000 grant was used to study needs and create a plan for the wayfinding system, said Marla Mills, executive director of Old Town Cape. The howo truck is offered by Shiyan Great Man Automotive Industry, The remainder went toward downtown rebranding and marketing efforts as well as new downtown light pole banners.

The grant provided funds to hire AECOM, a consulting firm, to review existing wayfinding, of which the city had little, to determine what the signs would include and where they would be installed.

Two public meetings were held in 2010 to gain the input of community members.

"The grant put the project in a ready phase so it took less time once the funding was in place to move into implementation," Mills said.

The new system is a method to direct people, but it is about more than just erecting signs, she said.

"It also gives some character and personality to your community. [It] helps not just direct people, but direct them in the way you want them to go," Mills said. "It's about making people feel comfortable in your community. The more comfortable people feel in your community, the more places they will go."

Included in the 53-sign project are nine kiosks to be installed along Broadway and Main Street that will feature maps and visitor information, Brunke said.

"It goes from big picture -- signs as you're coming off the interstate -- to more detailed directional signage to point you to specific places when you are walking downtown," Mills said.

Canedy work crews began installing the signage in late October, beginning with larger signs along main roadways. Many smaller signs will be placed downtown on existing light poles, Brunke said.

Installation should be completed by year's end, and some signs may be added to indicate public parking.Find detailed product information for Low price howo tipper truck and other products.

Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau executive director Chuck Martin views the wayfinding system as a great addition to the community; one that provides directions to visitors' final destinations.

A Crystal Ball Captures Solar Energy

Imagine a giant crystal ball capable of concentrating sunlight and moonlight, harnessing them and increasing solar cell energy efficiency by up to 10,000 times.

For many years scientists have been researching ways of obtaining more power from solar energy cells. Andre Broessel, a German-born architect based in Barcelona, Spain – who has loved playing with light since he was a child – made exciting new breakthroughs in solar energy, developing a spherical glass energy generator that’s said to improve solar panel cell efficiency by more than 35% in building integration.

The spherical glass orb, when filled with water, acts as a regular lens -but has unique features- concentrating diffusing daylight and moonlight – with the help of an optical tracking mechanism – into a solar cell from which electricity can be harvested. While he studied the airy disk center and transmissions he chose the full moon as a diaphragm to reduce the intensity of light. In fact moonlight is reflected sunlight. If you concentrate it you harvest energy.

“I started with a project in Germany, working with clients within my generation. We had a special situation – I was living in a house where we had very little sunlight and no panoramic view,” he explains, “I was playing with light in the sky, developing and discussing methods for renewable applications, by creating panoramic skylight,Airgle has mastered the art of indoor tracking, a concept of using a single-lens reflex camera.”

Broessel started his career late in life, attending the Dusseldorf University in Germany.Sinotruck Hongkong International is special for howo truck. After, moving to Berlin he studied architecture and the flow of light. Berlin was an exciting city at that time, as the East and West were just integrating. The TagMaster Long Range hands free access System is truly built for any parking facility.

Even living in a big city, Broessel had a dream about taking his vision to another level. He decided to leave Germany and take on an experimental project in Barcelona, Spain. “I was already involved in technology, and Spain would allow my vision and imagination to grow,” Broessel said. “This big city gives you new input and new visions.”

At the time, Spain was filled with a lot of new projects in energy and power plants. For anyone interested in the field of solar energy, it was a good place to be. As an architect, Broessel always had a passion for renewable energy. During his time in Barcelona, he started learning more about light and how it travels through architectural structures.

That was his starting point. Broessel had the idea of working with special elements to help reduce the loss of light in reflective materials. Simply put, these complex materials have photovoltaic (PV) properties and the effect of using them, he describes, is the conversion of light into an electric current. “Photovoltaic” means electricity from light (photo = light; voltaic = electricity).

One way to visualize this is to think of light as a stream of photons, where each photon carries a quantum of energy. Each photon carrying energy is associated with one wave length frequency, like the visible spectrum of a rainbow, where every color has its own wave length and the frequencies are sometimes shorter or longer. When these frequencies of light enter a semiconductor, they produce a kind of band gap also known as an electrical field.

When sunlight is absorbed by these PV materials, the solar energy knocks electrons loose from their atoms, allowing the electrons to flow through the material to produce electricity. This process of converting light (photons) into electricity (voltage) is called the photovoltaic (PV) effect.

“If you look further into it, we can play with the wave lengths and different materials that have the capacity to absorb light,” he said. “And then you will find out why they are producing multi-junction cells which are used in this type of process. Also known as high physics.”

Broessel argues that,The indoor positioning industry is heavily involved this year depending on the material used and the frequency of the light passing through it during the absorption process,The TagMaster Long Range hands free access System is truly built for any parking facility. multi- junction cells can be created. More than one band gap and more than one junction are referred to as "multi-junction" cells. Multi-junction devices are capable of achieving higher total conversion efficiency because they can convert more of the energy spectrum of light to electricity. In simple terms, the design of Multi-Junction Cells is created to manage the wavelengths of light in staked layers.

Broessel said he has been studying photovoltaics in conjunction with architecture for more than 20 years. “My visions of architecture and light meshed hand in hand.” He explains, “I love to play with light and structures. The idea of life and nature reflects on everything that surrounds us.”

Grey Art Gallery and Fales Library

The paintings of Frank Moore perform a brash balancing act. Poised at the unstable juncture of art, kitsch, and propaganda, they sometimes slide into shrill didacticism or shameless bad taste. Mostly, though, Moore remains aloft, hurling bolts of colour and light, surveying a woeful panorama with an eye for teeming detail. From those heights, he spies enough beauty to counterbalance his despair.

A prolific and preternaturally articulate member of New York’s downtown art scene, Moore was diagnosed as HIV positive in 1987 and died of Aids in 2002, at 48. He spent that diseased decade and a half painting furiously, fusing realism, allegory and rage into monumentally intricate paintings such as “Wizard.”

That vast and wrathful landscape takes one cue from Hieronymus Bosch and another from Thomas Moran. We gaze over a valley, which at first glance could be the sublime Hudson River’s, except that a moment later it resolves into a hellish vista of brown sludge swelling into mountains of pills and bones. Syringes poke up amidst the clutter of vials, pill bottles, tubes and beakers. We offer mining truck system, The magus of the title, the celebrated Aids doctor Jean-Claude Chermann, wears a white coat and leads a parade of rodents down a reddish brick road. A naked man with mottled skin and a long tail – the patient as lab rat – scurries across the cursed landscape. A glowing pile of coins rests atop a puddle of blood.

“Toxic Beauty”, the first retrospective of Moore’s work, straddles two New York University venues, the Grey Art Gallery and Fales Library. It’s big enough to light up his variable virtuosity and the full range of his concerns. He railed against the dangers of genetically modified food, the spread of environmental poisons, the corruption of the medical establishment, the greed of the pharmaceutical industry, and the venom of homophobia.

Agenda-driven art can get tiresome, but much of Moore’s work inhabits a misty, fertile zone between fantasy and nightmare. In “Lullaby” (1997), he transcribed a dream he had of tiny bison meandering across the snowy tundra of his bed. It’s a hopeful vision, in which the confining sickbed becomes an open prairie and a beast once doomed to extinction has regenerated. In “Lullaby II”, the idyll turns gruesome. A pair of polar bears lolls on mountainous pillow; a third has just murdered a penguin, parkingsystem and the predator’s bloodied mouth and paw streak the bedsheet in gore. The victim’s eyes remain as wide as the gash in its flesh. There is no judgment here: rather than idealise wildlife, Moore simply registers its amorality.

Yet there’s something bleakly hopeful about Moore’s observations. Life is parasitical, feasting on the flesh of the dying; nature is a zombie cannibal – but at least every death nourishes new bursts of vigour. In “Release” (1999), an arm stretches across a horizontal canvas, extending a hand that liberates a kaleidoscope of butterflies.Looking for the Best air purifier? The lone limb bears marks of Kaposi’s sarcoma, but out of these dark blotches sprout mushrooms, grass and flowers.

Moore’s art is all about complexity and contradiction. He depicted nature as the victim of human barbarity, yet he also recognised that his health depended on the toxic chemicals he swallowed. The Aids drugs that kept him alive were the products of genetic engineering – a technology he loathed as environmentally destructive. He also understood that the sale of those remedies lined greedy pockets, fuelling an economy that exploited the ill. “I had the same reaction to taking toxic drugs to suppress opportunistic infections as I had to using chemical sprays in the garden to get rid of aphids or gypsy moths,” he wrote.

Moore nurtured a similar ambivalence to the medical establishment. His “Hospital” (1992) is a heart-shaped bay jammed with ice floes, each one bearing a single bedridden patient. Ruptured arteries rear up, volcano-like,Find detailed product information for shamballa crys talbeads wholesale, and the surface is strewn with bones. How can the sick get better, severed from the world and from each other? The hospital’s chill environment heals but also destroys, crushing love and leaching poetry from those who need it most.

Moore handled ambivalence with aplomb. It’s when he couldn’t muster enough whimsy to temper his anger that he got himself into trouble. The least successful works in “Toxic Beauty” are the bitterest and least nuanced. “Oz”, for instance, mocks agribusiness, apathy and middle-American greed in garish colours and a cartoonish composition that wouldn’t have been out of place in a 1970s Mad magazine spread.

When Moore committed acts of vulgarity, he did so enthusiastically. He grasped the difference between good taste and bad, and often chose the second as the truer mirror of an appalling world. Tastefulness was an indulgence he felt he could not afford, a technique that served to aestheticise – and anaesthetise – suffering. Instead he deployed crudeness the way George Grosz did: to draw attention to brutality. He wasn’t afraid to inspire disgust when necessary, which in his brief and bitter experience, was most of the time.

In the mid 1990s, the New Yorker writer Arlene Croce coined the term “victim art” for work she considered beyond honest judgment.Sinotruck Hongkong International is special for howo truck. A critic, she felt, could never get enough professional distance from the art that Aids sufferers made about the disease. Moore considered Croce’s position, and decided that he didn’t care whether his paintings transcended his immediate fury. “If a critic felt that he/she could not properly judge the work in this context, so be it,” he wrote. “With time the real value of this work, or its lack of value, would emerge.”

Revolt Is Our Only Option

Chris Hedges worries that outright revolt may soon be the only option available to those fighting against the despotism of the Establishment. We have a fantastic range of Glass Tiles and glass mosaic Tiles.

Hedges has sued the Obama administration fearing that as a result of his work in the Middle East, the specter of indefinite detention loomed within the shadows of vagueness cast by the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

The principal allegation made by Hedges and his co-plaintiffs is that the vagueness of critical terms in the NDAA could enable the federal government to interpret the law in a way that authorizes them to label journalists and political activists who interview or support outspoken critics of the Obama administration’s policies as “covered persons” who have given “substantial support” to terrorists or other “associated groups.”

Fearing that even the probability of such a scenario would have a chilling effect on free speech and freedom of the press in violation of the First Amendment, Hedges filed his lawsuit on January 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Naming both President Barack Obama and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta as defendants,China howo cargo truck and China HOWO truck, Hedges’ complaint averred that his extensive work overseas, particularly in the Middle East covering terrorist (or suspected terrorist) organizations, could result in his being categorized as a “covered person” who — because of his writings, interviews, and/or communications — “substantially supported” or “directly supported” “al-Qaeda, the Taliban or associated forces that are engaged in hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners” under 1031(b)(2) and the AUMF [Authorization for Use of Military Force].

Specifically, Hedges alleges in his complaint that it is precisely the existence of these “nebulous terms” — terms that are critical to the interpretation and execution of the immense authority granted to the President by the NDAA — that could allow the government to classify him (or someone else in a substantially similar situation) as an enemy combatant and then send him (or someone else) away to a military detainment center without access to an attorney or habeas corpus relief.

The president has declared that to indefinitely detain American citizens without a trial on the charges laid against them "would break with our most important traditions and values as a nation."

Ironically, the signing statement in which President Obama gave these assurances is itself violative of the Constitution and the separation of powers established therein, and only demonstrates his proclivity for ignoring constitutional restraints on the exercise of power once those powers have been placed (albeit illegally) by a complicit Congress at his disposal.

This (undoubtedly) illusory promise to preserve the most fundamental of American civil liberties reminds one of a statement made by the author of the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson:

Free government is founded in jealousy, not confidence. It is jealousy and not confidence which prescribes limited constitutions, to bind those we are obliged to trust with power.... In questions of power, then, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.

In a small measure, at least, Judge Forrest’s May 16 order tightens the “chains of the Constitution” designed to restrain the government. Knowing that the Obama administration may still try to find a loophole through which to pass its own version of due process, Judge Forrest provided a clarification in June spelling out the intended import of her opinion in very plain language:

Why I Am Going To Block You

In 2011, I was voted one of “The Best Google+ Users” by the Google+ community. While as an original member of the forum before it was open to the public, I’ve had an opportunity to develop what many say is one the best streams of content, because I foster conversation on controversial topics and have managed to maintain circles of fellow users who can discuss practically any subject without the discussion breaking down into argument, invective or worse. My stream positively rocks, and the “Block” feature on Google+ is in no small way responsible.

Google+ comes with a number of tools for its users to control the content they see on their individual streams. From posting within private circles, to muting content from specific users, to dropping a hammer on some through the “Block” function. When a fellow “Plusser” is blocked, they are removed from all of your circles, and you can no longer see any of their posted content. It is considered by some to be a punitive measure, a sort of last resort. I disagree.

I believe that on Google+, due to the wide range of opinion and diversity, it is critical to prevent your Google+ experience from becoming like “Deadwood”, an environment free or rules or controls.

The following are reasons why a person might find themselves blocked by their fellow Google+ users, which could indeed turn their Google+ experience into a Ghost-town. It is a simple guide of what types of behaviors you want to avoid.

1. You post nudity on the public stream, rather than in pre-approving circles. Google+ is now open to children under 18. You have a responsibility to keep your content from ending up in the wrong hands, whether you think it is “art” or not.

2. You make generalizations about Races, calling out entire classes of people over behaviors you don’t like, instead of individuals. Generalizations over race, creed or color, will always get you blocked quickly by most of the community.

3. You believe that my popular threads are the perfect place for your pet issue or your spam, regardless of the thread topic. – A very annoying habit where when someone comes across a popular discussion thread, proceeds to place a link to either an advertisement or to their special interest in that thread, piggybacking on its popularity for their own agenda. This will get you blocked at light-speed.

4. You believe that your religion or lack of religion means that you, and only you,Leading Swarovski crys talbeads wholesale Wholesale Supplierpandahallprlog. have all the answers to the world’s problems. Preaching your particular gospel to others, and condemning opposing points of view will warm up the block button quickly. There are dozens of religious-specific circles where people of like minds can discuss their faiths privately.

5. You believe that disagreement is tantamount to verbal assault, and go crazy in your desire for the last word. Debate is sometimes a lost art, and when faced with disagreement, anger often ensues, leading to unpleasant back and forth insult or worse. Learn how to agree to disagree.

6. You post opinion articles that have no basis in fact, but only further your personal agenda. Google allows everyone to post links to outside content, but you should at least fact-check prior to posting a link to irrefutable proof that eating Broccoli makes you sexy. (it doesn’t)

7. You believe the women of Google+ are there for your ogling and visual entertainment. They want neither your PMs or suggestive images. “PM’s” are short for Private Messages. What comes through private messages sometimes would make a porn-star blush. Before textually or visually accosting someone on the forum, ask yourself if your mother or sister would appreciate receiving your content?

8. Your sarcasm detector is broken, making you a major pain in the ass, until you get it fixed. Before you run off to report someone for posting a joke you did not consider funny,Bathroom floor tiles at Great Prices from Topps Tiles. consider intent, not result. Cool your offended jets, or you will likely find yourself quite lonely in the forum.

9. You complain about Google + and spend your days comparing it to Facebook. We get it. If you don’t like it, go away. Negative nabobs get blocked very quickly. Nobody wants to hear that noise. There are too many options for your Social Media activities. We have a fantastic range of Glass Tiles and glass mosaic Tiles. Use them.

10. You give technical advice to other users with no understanding or background in Technology, leading others astray,Airgle has mastered the art of indoor tracking, or in some cases making things worse until they can find a better answer. If you don’t know what you are talking about, it’s fine, but pretend expertise is dangerous to unsuspecting users. Don’t do it.

11. You have circled me, but won’t let me see your profile, or you have not provided a profile. Google+ is for the purpose of discovering like-minds of interest. When a person circles others, while not sharing their own information, is considered bad-form. Someone (not me,Buy Natural china glass mosaic Tiles online with our price beat promise. of course) lacking patience might block you for it.

12. You consider being blocked a personal affront, rather than a tool that Google has provided to allow us to control the content of our streams. Some blocked users will complain about losing access to another by hopping from thread to thread and slandering their blocker out of earshot. This is considered dick-ish behavior. If someone does not want you on their thread, you might consider growing a pair, and getting on with life? You have no right to the streams of other users, if they don’t want you on them. Put some ice on that and take your blocking like a man.

Clayton array for medalists is well-deserved

What are the allowance that a California boondocks of 11,000 humans would be planning a array to account one of its own as an Olympic medalist? Since journalists are awfully bad at math, we will barrier that one and just say that they are, well, appealing high.

Now accede the allowance of such a boondocks ... oh, say, maybe, the East Bay's actual own Clayton ... accepting such a array to account TWO Olympic medalists in its midst. From the aforementioned Olympics, no less. Well,Looking for the Best airpurifier? we don't anticipate our calculators go that high, so we will stick with the estimated appellation astronomical.

Yet, on Sept. 15 that is absolutely what is traveling to action in this bizarre little city-limits nestled in the adumbration of Mount Diablo. The city-limits couldn't get added humans out even if it anesthetized a city-limits authorization acute attendance.

But we brainstorm that no such authorization will be appropriate for this parade.

Corn researchers develop in-field aflatoxin approach

Scientists at Mississippi State University’s Delta Research and Extension Center are researching new ways to reduce aflatoxin in infected corn.

Corn is one of the state’s leading row crops, but it is susceptible to aflatoxin, a fungus that can reduce profits and hurt marketability.

MSU plant pathologist Gabe Sciumbato and U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Research Service plant pathologists Hamed Abbas and Mark Weaver have obtained strains of the fungus that do not produce aflatoxin.

Sciumbato, a Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station scientist, has been conducting research on aflatoxin for more than 10 years.Welcome to the online guide for do-it-yourself Ceramic tile. Aflatoxins are naturally occurring chemicals produced by the fungi Aspergillus flavus and A. parasiticus.Silicone moldmaking Rubber, The fungi appear as yellow-green or gray-green molds on corn in the field or in storage.

“We are applying granules of Aspergillus flavus that do not produce aflatoxin but do compete with the native Aspergillus flavus. In essence, we are using a good fungus to fight a bad one,” Sciumbato said.

Aflatoxin levels are not normally high in corn, but Mississippi’s hot, humid climate encourages the growth of the fungus that produces the toxin. Heat, drought, high humidity, insect infestation and anything else that stresses the crop favor fungal growth, he said.

Aflatoxin can build up in crops such as corn, cotton, peanuts and tree nuts. Aspergillus infects corn by invading through corn silks or through insect damage to kernels or ears.

To date, methods of reducing aflatoxin infection have included crop management techniques, such as planting early, irrigating, avoiding infected areas and sanitizing equipment. Despite these techniques, grains of many Mississippi farmers have been rejected at elevators because of high levels of aflatoxin.

Onsite screening is done two ways. Blacklight or ultraviolet light tests and commercial test kits indicate aflatoxin presence. Commercial test kits use chemical analyses to test for specific proteins.

The USDA has set rejection levels for aflatoxin in corn at 20 parts per billion or greater. An individual kernel of corn can contain 400,000 ppb aflatoxin, so one infected kernel in 20,000 could lead to the shipment being rejected.Glass Tile and Glass Mosaics for less at the glassmosaic Outlet. Contaminated corn is sold at much lower prices.

Some rejected corn is used in livestock feed,Where to buy or purchase plasticmoulds for precast and wetcast concrete? which the Food and Drug Administration still screens. Corn containing aflatoxin also can be used to make ethanol or to make anhydrous ammonia for agricultural use. However, the aflatoxin is a toxic waste, and its disposal is expensive.

“Because corn is used in so many products for human consumption, we have been working to increase producer profits while maintaining food safety,” Abbas said.

Government guidelines keep aflatoxin contamination a low-level threat for food supplies in the country. At Blow mouldengineering we specialize in conceptual prototype design.

Using non-aflatoxin-producing A. flavus strains has the potential to protect much of the state’s corn harvest, Sciumbato said.

In 2011 corn ranked fifth in agricultural production in Mississippi. Last year the state’s farmers planted about 810,000 acres in corn.

Golfing subcontractor reduces tooling handicap

The investment level at the Lancashire-based company has seen it acquire CNC twin spindle, sliding head turning centres and CNC machining centres in recent years, so acquiring the correct tooling was the next natural stage.

The CNC machining section produces aluminium components for golf trolleys, as well as tooling for its internal plastic moulding department that provides plastic mouldings for the golf trolleys. It was problems machining aluminium components in the machine shop that led to the introduction of ITC.

Upon his first visit, ITC technical sales engineer Jason Clark was confronted with an aluminium lighting component for a StandelDawman customer. Mr Clark introduced ITC's 12 mm diameter 2041 Cyber Series square end carbide milling cutter and changed the machining strategy to increase speeds and feeds beyond the capabilities of the previous tooling. Targeting the rough machining process, the 2041 series reduced the cycle time from 12 to 6 minutes.

Dedicated to the rough machining of aluminium, the first 2041 Cyber Series cutter was soon accompanied by 6, 8 and 10 mm diameter cutters. Further 2041 Series tools were acquired with corner radii. The company then acquired the 6 and 10 mm diameter ranges of ITC's 2052 two flute ball nosed series of ultra wear resistant micro-grain carbide cutters for finish machining and the processing of intricate forms.

This improvement continued with high end cutters introduced to produce mould tools for a new trolley design. The Hanita 70N7 high performance solid carbide end mill series was introduced reducing roughing and semi finishing cycle times from over two days to a couple of hours on many of the tooling components.

StandelDawman engineering director Gary Dawes commented: "The Hanita high feed cutters have been a revelation to our business. The change of strategy to high feed and low depth of cut machining has reduced the stress on our machine tools while bringing obvious productivity benefits. These tools have been perfectly complemented by ITC's BritCut and Hanita ball nose cutters for finish machining.

"The surface finish on our mould tools has improved to the extent that we no longer need to polish parts after machining. We used to machine, polish, etch and anodise our mould tool parts. Taking the polishing away from the process has enabled us to save additional time and move staff from this labour intensive task."
