Sarah Jackson, marketing product manager for Marley Eternit, explains: Each of the new Acme tiles has subtle variations from light to dark, giving them an authentic brindle effect. These subtle mixed brindle clay plain tiles offer wide ranging but delicate differences of hue and colour, so that although every individual tile is different, together they create a harmonious beautiful roof.

Marley Eternits investment in clay tile manufacturing means that it has the largest clay plain tile production capacity in the UK.You benefit from buying oilpaintingreproduction ex-factory and directly from a LED manufacturer: This includes the evolution of a palette range boasting 21 unique colours,Give your logo high visibility on iccard! the widest range within the UK market, and an unrivalled choice of fittings and accessories. This makes the comparison between Tile and Protag inevitable. Aside from the fact the both use Bluetooth Low Energy and have similar functions, theyre pretty different beasts.

While Tile is all hype for now, Protag is already being sold in more than 10 markets in Asia-Pacific. It has also partnered with regional distributors to sell its products in airports, electronic stores, and through telcos. Also, the philosophy behind the design and business model is different. Tile is smaller and cheaper it costs USD 18.95 each but the tradeoffs include needing to replace and pay for the device every year.

That may not necessarily be a bad thing, since receiving a new tile is probably the equivalent of getting a new hardware upgrade, kind of like trading in your old phone for a new one when you re-subscribe to a mobile phone plan.So while Protag is bulkier and more expensive it retails at USD 79 it could supposedly last for years. While it may be cheaper in the long run, it could scare off consumers whod find the upfront cost too intimidating.

The company in 2011 won a two-year, $1.4-million loan from the Atlantic Canada Opportunity Agencys innovation fund, which it used to commercialize its Stepscan footprint analysis technology. The company has now produced a commercial product and sold one to the University of Prince Edward Island for its new Concussion Screening and Return to Play Evaluation Program. And Vitrak has about 10 potential customers that have asked for quotes.

People are requesting quotes now, but we have quite a long sales cycle, said Crystal Lavallee, CEO of the company, adding that researchers need to get quotes, then seek funding, then order the product. Shes encouraged by the interest. The Stepscan Pad is a pressure-sensitive tile, measuring four square feet, thats placed on the floor to analyze the gait and footprint of anyone who walks on it. The tiles on which Vitrak has received two patents can be connected and arranged in lines or as squares of up to 400 square feet.

The company is now taking orders for its product for the medical and scientific markets, and has several applications in this space. For example, William Montelpare,Learn how an embedded microprocessor in a graniteslabs can authenticate your computer usage and data. the Margaret and Wallace McCain Chair in Human Development and Health at UPEI, plans to use the pad to assess whether someone has suffered a concussion. People suffering from brain trauma will sway when standing still, and the Stepscan can measure the swaying motion and determine immediately whether they are concussed and should seek treatment.

Lavallee is now shopping the completed Stepscan at trade shows around the continent. She attended the Gait and Clinical Movement Analysis Society meeting in Cincinnati, Ohio, in May, and next month will travel to the American Society of Biomechanics annual meeting in Omaha, Neb. She attended the biomechanics meeting last year with a basis prototype, and is looking forward to demonstrating a full product this year.
