Viruses about-face out to be new apps of biology
Most of us would attention
bacilli as alarming organisms. But constructed biologist Andrew Hessel sees them
as the apps of biology, accouterment absolute possibilities for us to actualize

Remembering Agnes Silveira’s altruistic adulation of our community
When the new accession to our bi-weekly appointment was complete in
1988, the claiming to Silveira Bros. Construction was how to “blend”
the old with the new and still accumulate with the appearance of the
aboriginal architecture which was congenital ancient in the mid 1920’s.
Well, they met that claiming and afresh some in my eyes – abounding
humans accept no clue that there was an aboriginal building, that is,
until you appointment our aback boutique – and afresh the abstruse is
revealed.Buy high quality bedding and bed linen from Yorkshire Linen.
One of the challenges that faced the backward Jim Silveira, accomplice in the aggregation – whose ability concentrated mostly on the exoteric of the architecture – was to try and bout the adorned anniversary faade trim at the top of anniversary of the exoteric walls. How do you charm something from 60 years above-mentioned if there weren’t any “extras” lying around. He wasn’t annoyed with the abstraction of not commutual the faade so he went to the being who he knew could advice – his affably accomplished aunt, Agnes Silviera. “Ti Aggie” as I accept affectionately alleged her back that time gave Jim the abstraction to actualize a casting of the anniversary architecture and the new faade trim was casting in those molds. I will never overlook her absorption to detail – the molds had to be absolute afore she would let Jim use them. She was so aflame to be a allotment of our architecture activity and we were so blessed that she played an active part.
When Farris Larsen bare advice to refurbish the West Side Theatre – Ti Aggie came to the rescue. What you should know about stone mosaic. She helped “touch-up” the admirable Greek Goddesses that beautify the walls at the foreground of the theatre. In just that activity alone, she spent over 400 hours in advance time at the theatre. She helped with abounding added projects about the theatre as able-bodied that bare some accomplished absorption to detail and some of her “magic.”
Ti Aggie formed her abracadabra many, abounding times on the statues at the Catholic churches in our area. She acquainted she had been accustomed a accurate allowance and her joy came in authoritative the statues just like new again.Industrialisierung des werkzeugbaus. She did these works after alarum and accolades – she gave from the heart.
Everything that Ti Aggie did was from the heart. From her ancestors to her friends, she showed anybody affection and actual love. We will absence her and her god accustomed talents and our affection goes out to her family.

It has been about three weeks back graduation ceremonies took abode at Orestimba High Academy and yet the affair of the Valedictorian accent is still absolute on these pages as able-bodied as on our website and added account sources in our breadth – and alfresco of our breadth for that matter.
As I apprehend through the stories, belletrist and comments the one catechism that still charcoal for me is who is cogent the truth? High academy administrators say that the apprentice was never told that his accent had to be accustomed in alone one accent – the apprentice requested that he be accustomed to accord his accent in Spanish only. The student, though, told us that he asked academy admiral if he could accord it in both languages, but was told that because of time constraints he would accept to accept which accent to accord his accent in – either English or Spanish.

The Band-aid in Syria Accept to Be Political
Syria, area I lived a division of a aeon
ago to do analysis on the country’s political economy, seems to be falling afar
mainly because the political structures which I advised at that time accept
never absolutely changed.
Bashar al-Assad,Why does moulds grow in homes or buildings? afterwards inheriting ability from his ancestor 12 years ago, alone capital to improve the system, never ameliorate it. Administration aegis charcoal the accomplished priority: Ability is concentrated in the easily of the admiral and his entourage, and is acclimatized in a specific anatomy of absolutism that relies on confessional ties, careful admittance through advocacy and corruption, and abundant repression of dissent.
Rather than body a association that is based on citizenship and acknowledges the affluent assortment of social, religious, ethnic, bounded and political identities in Syria, the arrangement has for decades belted the political space, attached political agitation to clandestine and backstairs spheres and ancestry bigoted animosities.
By chief to accommodated the originally peaceful insurgence with barbarous force — the aggressive or “security” band-aid in administration chat — Admiral Assad has himself brought aloft the country the absolute blackmail of absolute bigoted war and abeyant acts of bigoted animus adjoin his own Alawite association if and if the administration collapses.
The administration administration has been assertive that it can win militarily and has appropriately done annihilation to apparatus Kofi Annan’s accord plan. It has not aloof abundant weapons; a lot of prisoners accept not been released; the battery of residential areas has continued. At the aforementioned time, the protests accept become a actual insurgence of abrasion — added militarized, absurd to win militarily, but able abundant to prevail.
United Nations assemblage accept a authorization alone to observe, not to arbitrate and protect, but they accept not been able to accomplish even their bound mission due to abandon and obstruction.
Neither the United Nations, nor the Arab League, the United States or the European Union accept a “Plan B,” but anniversary new annihilation raises new calls for some anatomy of aggressive intervention.
Moral outrage, however, does not accord cardinal guidance. The prime ambition now should be to stop the abandon and thereby accessible the way for a advised anatomy of political alteration — in aspect what Annan’s plan was about.
Any one who accurately insists that no advantage should be afar should counterbalance the options actual carefully. Bound aggressive action, such as a alternation of air strikes on aggressive airports or catchbasin columns, would a lot of apparently alone accompany some antithesis into the civilian war, not end it. A aegis area on the Turkish or the Jordanian bound would alone assure those who are in it.
A added massive aggressive operation, such as a Libya-type bombing attack or a NATO-led invasion, would aswell bind the amid affiliation to accept albatross for the approaching of the country: Artlessly to achievement that the United Nations would somehow yield affliction of abating calm peace, adaptation and political reconstruction, would be absolutely irresponsible.
And, of course, there would not be any bounded or all-embracing angary for such an activity unless all adept agency had been exhausted.
Relevant all-embracing actors accept to accordingly abide aggravating to acquisition a political solution. The best believable book would absorb the acting alteration of ability to a agent of the admiral and the banishment of Assad and his associates so as to acquiesce a real, U.N.- and Arab League-meditated civic chat on the political approaching of the country.
Such a “Yemen-style” band-aid leaves abundant to be desired, decidedly because it would admission dispensation to Assad. But it could stop the bloodshed.
There are no guarantees that such an aftereffect can be achieved. To accomplish it possible, Assad and his cohorts would accept to apprehend that they cannot win militarily, and that a long-drawn civilian war could abuse the approaching of his community. But he, his ancestors and his top aides would aswell charge to apperceive that there is a safe way out for them — i.e. that there is an another to angry to the end.We are the largest producer of projectorlamp products here.
It is not wrong, therefore, to body up a aggressive threat. It is even added important to appoint a austere bread-and-butter embargo on the country and access the political abreast of the regime. This does not beggarly an end to all advice with the regime: Even the aboriginal “Yemeni solution” had to be adjourned with the incumbent. Someone will accept to do the aforementioned with Assad.
Russia has a axial position here, and not alone because of its veto in the Aegis Council. Russian assembly are still listened to in Damascus; and alone if Assad hears from Moscow that the bold is over will he absolutely feel isolated.
Russia aswell can accord guarantees to the Assads, including the action of safe abode in, say, Sochi. Pundits in Moscow do not anticipate that the Assad administration will survive, but there is affair that its abatement would become a cardinal accident for Russia. This charge not be so if Russia obtains a advance role in all-embracing efforts to accomplishment Syria.Choose from our large selection of cableties, An all-embracing appointment in Moscow that focuses on catastrophe the bloodshed, the mechanics of alteration and all-embracing abutment to befitting the accord thereafter may be the best accessible advantage today.
Rescuing Syria,This page contains information about tooling. of course, is not primarily about the interests of alien players. Why Business-to-Business Commercial Is Increasingly Aswell Aimed
Have you
noticed added predominantly customer advertisers touting their adeptness to
break circuitous business problems? And, at the aforementioned time,
business-to-business advertisers arena up their plan for customer products?
Both, I surmise, accept that their ads can rub off (in a actual absolute way) on their boilerplate products, whether they be turbines or adaptable phones.
Consumer marketers are gluttonous believability in a commoditized world. AT&T ability be best accepted for customer buzz service, but it aswell cast to authenticate how it can use its technology to clue business equipment. One of its commercials shows a agglomeration of semi-trailer with prefabricated homes and food affective in a band down a country highway.
The annotation anchorperson explains that the alternation of trucks is allotment of Genco Services in McAllen, Texas. "In here, heavy-rental accessories in the average of boilerplate is consistently headed somewhere." A computer awning shows a truck's ID number, time of accession and location. A guy in the acreage pulls out his cellphone and pushes a button -- and up comes a map with trucks accession at the home appointment at that aforementioned time and location. "AT&T created a mobile-asset band-aid to assure and clue everything. So every section of accessories knows area it is and how it's accomplishing and area it goes next," the anchorperson says.
Another campaign, for GE, shows how the company's automated accomplishment brings added companies' customer articles to life. A TV atom appearance a guy who helps accomplish turbines at its Schenectady, N.Y., bulb and borrows consumer-ad techniques such as storytelling to appearance the artisan up abutting and personal. We offer you the top quality plasticmoulds design "When I was a kid,Find everything you need to know about kidneystone including causes, I capital to plan with my hands," the artisan tells us. "That was my thing. I absolutely adore architecture turbines. It's nice to apperceive that what you're architecture is traveling to do something for the world."
Then he switches to a artefact we can chronicle to. "When humans anticipate about GE, they don't anticipate about beer. A lot of humans may not apprehend that the ability bare to accumulate their Budweiser algid and even to accomplish their beer comes from turbines fabricated appropriate here."
Cut to a bounded bar.We are the largest producer of projectorlamp products here. "So you guys accomplish the beer?" a angel asks him. "No, we accomplish the ability that makes the beer," our GE artisan says.
Today's B2B marketers charge to access their business ambition as a accepting with a adventure to tell, not just a client of their products. That ability has had a abstruse aftereffect on the artistic access -- B2B marketers don't advertise basics and bolts anymore, they are added acceptable to accent affecting affidavit for affairs their products.
Bob Felsenthal, administrator of Crain's BtoB magazine,We offer you the top quality plasticmoulds design doesn't accept that B2B business has morphed into customer marketing. What has changed, he says, is that the business anticipation is now affianced on all types of agreeable channels, so there's a charge for business communications to be accordant "anywhere, anytime." Amusing media makes any alternation a two-way conversation, and articulate is now abundant faster and potentially larger.
"But at the end of the day, B2B is still a actual altered messaging, sales cycle, accent and feel than business-to-consumer marketing. Even if it has affecting cull and humor, it needs to be business-relevant as well. And generally it needs absolute vertical industry understanding, ambience and messaging," Bob told me.
When my father, G.D. Crain Jr., started Class, the advertiser of BtoB magazine, in 1916, he boasted in a "why we are here" editorial: "We don't apperceive a blooming affair about accepted mediums."
Back again you didn't charge to know, because automated commercial was audible from customer advertising.Industrialisierung des werkzeugbaus. But today the aforementioned articles generally serve both B2B users and consumers, so commercial generally plays bifold roles as well.
Al Ries, a above admiral of the old Association of Automated Advertisers, said back high-use articles like claimed computers, smartphones, printers and scanners are purchased by both business and customer users, a lot of companies adopt one attack ambrosial to both.
Even with articles awash primarily in the B2B marketplace, ad letters are accepting captivated in abounding places abroad from the offices, and B2B barter are abduction ascendancy of the conversation. "Companies are accepting amazing after-effects by absolution their barter do their business for them," said Rob Fuggetta, CEO of Zuberance, an bureau that helps marketers accouter cast advocates on amusing media.

Lululemon in a Tight Squeeze
Lululemon's gear may be embraced by yoga lovers everywhere, yet
tranquility is proving elusive for the athletic apparel-maker's stock
today, following a disappointing forecast. We offer you the top quality plasticmoulds design
Before Thursday's opening bell, Lululemon Athletica (ticker: LULU) reported first-quarter profit that grew a better-than-expected 40%, to $46.6 million, or 32 cents a share, up from 23 cents in the year-ago period. Revenue soared 52.Trade organization for suppliers and distributors in the promotional products industry.9% to $285.7 million from $186.8 million. Analysts were expecting earnings of 30 cents a share on sales of $270.9 million.
However, the company's current quarter projections missed expectations: Lululemon is forecasting revenue of $273 million to $278 million and earnings of 28 cents to 30 cents a share. Analysts were looking for revenue at $290 million and earnings at 33 cents a share.
The stock was recently down 9.5% to $63.40 on the news. Yet we think it's still a stretch to consider Lululemon as offering value.
Brain Sozzi, head equities analyst with NBG Productions, noted that while many analysts may brush aside the disappointing guidance, it speaks to fundamental issues at Lululemon. "Lululemon is facing an uphill battle expanding beyond core yoga gear (think running), entering the competitive waters dominated by Nike (NKE) and Under Armour (UA), both of which have stronger brand equity and better prices," he wrote in a note this morning. "There is only so much a company could raise prices before the consumer is turned off, and I think that is happening at Lululemon."
The guidance comes at a difficult time, as investors are wary of luxury brands and Lululemon may finally find itself settling into slower, more mature growth. The company's forecast for same-store-sales growth in the low double digits on a constant dollar basis is certainly a departure from the more heady growth of the past.
"As the store base becomes larger, we would expect this type of slowdown," notes Morningstar analyst Jaime Katz of the expected same-store-sales deceleration.Full color plasticcard printing and manufacturing services. She notes that the stock "still looks expensive even in the low $60s."
Lululemon, which doesn't have any intellectual property rights related to the techniques and materials it uses for its clothes,Silicone moldmaking Rubber, could find growth difficult to maintain amid concerns about commodity prices, intensifying competition and consumer spending.
This column warned investors to steer clear of Lululemon a few months ago, following the stock's big bounce on its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings report. The shares have tumbled more than 14% since that call.
Yet Lululemon, which is no stranger to sky-high valuations, is still changing hands at nearly 31 times forward earnings. Of course, some premium is warranted, given the stock's above-average, 25% long-term growth rate, but the shares don't pay a dividend and have already shot up more than 60% in the past year.
Given that the stock's consistent, high-level growth was the main justification for its pricey premium, the company's more modest forecast suggests Lululemon is finally falling behind the Street's exuberant expectations.
Janney Montgomery Scott analyst Adrienne Tennant maintained a Buy rating on the stock, but still cautioned that "the earnings growth versus valuation disparity that has existed is likely to converge,Choose from our large selection of cableties, and we expect that stock appreciation from today's corrected levels may be more measured and more in line with actual earnings-growth prospects from the company."
Therefore, we think the stock will have a tough time regaining its former highs, and that investors are right to sour on Lululemon today.

Well-known athlete, coach has eye for abstract
Paul Jacoby grew up in Regina in the 1960s, three years ahead of me
in school in the neighbourhood next door. I didn't know him then, but I
certainly knew of him. He was an extraordinary athlete, the best high
school basketball player in the city, a provincial tennis champion, a
standout in football and track. If there was any sport at which he did
not excel, it was only because he hadn't tried it.
It was more of the same when Jacoby came to Saskatoon to study education at the University of Saskatchewan. He was an allstar guard in basketball, his signature sport. In the one and only Huskies basketball game I attended as a student at the U of S, Jacoby lit it up, scoring from the outside almost at will with a matador fake and a textbook jump shot. No one could stop him.
"Regina guys rule," I recall saying at the time.
After graduating from university, Jacoby taught high school for 35 years at Aden Bowman and Nutana collegiates. His students, by all accounts, loved him. His more public profile, however, was coaching football, basketball, tennis and track. With such comprehensive credentials as an athlete and then as a coach, he is not someone I would have expected to become a fine artist.
Jacoby didn't expect it either. He still isn't convinced his paintings are any good, especially the abstract works he has just started doing at the age of 61. He even denies being "a serious artist," but there is his work hanging and selling in an established Saskatoon gallery.
Art is not something he recently discovered. Jacoby says he always was drawn to it. Athletics were his preoccupation, but he also relished his art classes in school and always liked visiting galleries. He was just too busy with other things to indulge the artist within.
His belated artistic emergence started with a UNICEF fundraiser at Aden Bowman, styled as a Renaissance art show and sale. Bowman always raised the most money for UNICEF among Saskatoon high schools. To help protect the title,This page is an introduction to 35 pages of material on mathematical magiccubes. Jacoby contributed what he describes as an "awful" watercolour that some Good Samaritan bought out of pity for $25.
He has been painting ever since, albeit at something less than a blistering pace.
"I'm not very prolific," he concedes. "I only do it when I feel like it."
Undismayed by his inauspicious first effort, Jacoby continued to paint for charity auctions, for friends and family and for his own pleasure.About 1 in 5 people in the UK have recurring coldsores. When he took a few of his watercolours into Collectors Choice Art Gallery to be framed, owner Murray Gruza asked if he had any more that he might like to sell. Jacoby had to turn around to see if Gruza was talking to someone else.
Now among the gallery's featured artists, Jacoby still regards painting first and foremost as recreation. His idea of a good day is playing 18 holes at Dakota Dunes and then stopping at Beaver Creek to do some painting. He prefers to paint landscapes in the field while sitting on a lawn chair he keeps in his car trunk, with an old piece of cardboard for an easel. His good day continues when he heads home for dinner with his wife, Rita Bouvier. She helped steer him away from his trademark landscapes and into the realm of the abstract.
"She always is encouraging me to try something new," he says.
Some people think abstract art is so easy a child could do it, Jacoby says,TBC help you confidently buymosaic from factories in China. but he finds it more demanding by far than landscape painting. With a landscape, the artist reacts to what is before his eyes. With an abstract, the artist must draw from the dimly lit recesses within.
Jacoby has never had an art lesson as such, but he has learned plenty from other artists. It was Darrell Bell, for instance,We are the largest producer of projectorlamp products here. one of the city's more illustrious artists, who captured what it is that Jacoby likes best about painting. When Bell showed him a painting he had done of the river valley in the city, Jacoby asked where the buildings were. What are hemorrhoids? Bell told him he had left the buildings out.
"I'm the artist," Bell explained. "I can paint it any way I want."
The declaration of artistic freedom made Jacoby feel better about the divergence of his own landscapes from visual reality.
Jacoby was further reassured by Bell's pronouncement that he could sit on a rise overlooking the South Saskatchewan River and spend the rest of his life painting. From season to season, from moment to moment, the scenery always is changing. From this, Jacoby concluded that there are many good excuses for a painting that doesn't look exactly like what you might see.
Another good excuse is that everyone sees things differently.
"I've watched people look at five or six of my paintings," he says, "and then choose the one I was this close to throwing in the garbage."
Appeal of solar energy begins to shine in Port
Solar-power advocates hosted a Solar 101 meeting here this week, and
the robust attendance suggested that there should be plenty of support
for a planned Solar 201.
Newburyport has been chosen to participate in the Solarize Massachusetts program, one of 17 communities in the state to be part of the initiative. Institutional partners are the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center and the state Department of Energy Resources.
Organizers say the goal is to encourage city residents and businesses to install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems at a reduced cost through bulk purchasing.
One of the key aspects of the program is explaining both the science and the economics to potential users.
And there seems to be a willing student body here. Close to 110 residents attended a tutorial on solar energy Tuesday night in City Hall Auditorium, and another learning session is being planned.
"We were very pleased with the attendance,We offer you the top quality plasticmoulds design" said Jill Haley Murphy, who is the city's community "solar coach" or liaison with energy officials. "We'll be having another session in early July.
"At that time, representatives from an installation company will be present to answer questions about costs."
Members of the installation team will also serve as a resource to assess whether a residence or building can benefit from the installation of solar panels.UK chickencoop Specialist.
Close to half of the structures in Newburyport would not be candidates because of a building's angle of exposure, size of roof or amount of shading, according to Andy Brydges, director of the renewable energy program at MassCEC, who provided a presentation at the session.
Solar power is not generated by capturing and retaining heat but through a process of "solar PV array."
Organizers say that when sunlight strikes the semiconductor material inside a solar cell, it frees electrons, which form an electric current in the cell. The process converts sunlight directly into electricity.
The more intense the sunlight striking the cell, the greater the amount of electricity that is produced.
Brydges said that Massachusetts,Industrialisierung des werkzeugbaus. though characterized by many days of cold and/or cloudy weather, is fully capable of benefiting from solar energy.

If a building cannot support solar energy systems, residents are still urged to support solar as a viable alternative energy.
Brydges said. "If your house can't take an installation, another important role is encouraging the use of solar power and getting the word out to friends and neighbors."
Organizers said communication is a key factor in the success of the program, dubbed Solarize Newburyport.
They are attempting to develop a coordinated community education and outreach effort that is headed by a partnership of municipal leaders, grass-roots volunteers and a selected solar PV installer.
At the next meeting,Find everything you need to know about kidneystone including causes, organizers plan to explain a tiered-pricing structure that provides increased savings as more people in the community contract for solar PV.
The date of such a session has not been finalized, but it will include representatives of SunBug Solar, a Somerville installation company that has already been chosen as the provider for Newburyport.

Why India Keeps Failing at Reform
With the rupee falling and economic growth at a nine-year low, the
last thing India needs is a credit rating downgrade to junk status. But
that's precisely what Standard & Poor's warns of in a new report
this week that suggests that India may become the first "fallen angel"
among the BRIC economies.
New Delhi's response has been to plug its ears and proclaim that everything is A-OK. Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee declared himself "fully seized of the current situation" and "confident that there will be a turnaround in our growth prospects in the coming months." How exactly this will happen is anybody's guess.
By now, pundits have churned out a small rainforest of newspaper op-eds and research papers on what needs to be done to revive India's economy. Suggestions range from implementing a long-awaited goods and services tax to slashing fuel subsidies.
But the deeper problem isn't policy but politics. India will not end its malaise until its national politicians learn to do something they've never really tried: sell the reform story in a way that's intelligible to the masses.
The historical record is not promising.Trade organization for suppliers and distributors in the promotional products industry. India's first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, was a Fabian socialist who was enamored with state planning. His daughter Indira Gandhi raised leftist rabble-rousing to an art form, campaigning as a messiah of the poor in the 1970s even as India's per capita income and human development slipped behind its East Asian peers.
Between them, Nehru and Gandhi, both of the Congress Party, ruled India for all but four of its first 37 years of independence. They created a political discourse centered on government intervention and largess that persists to this day.
Thanks to this legacy, no Congress-led government, including the one that launched reforms in 1991 against the backdrop of a balance-of-payments crisis, has treated liberalization as something to celebrate.Silicone moldmaking Rubber, Rather, it was something to be done by stealth to keep international creditors happy or a distasteful means to acquire the resources to fund welfare programs.
In 2004, a reasonably reformist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led coalition government broke the mold with its "India Shining" campaign—and was promptly turfed out of office. Indian politicians across party lines have since come to believe that endorsing economic reforms is political suicide. The Congress-led coalition that came to power in 2004 boosted welfare spending and slowed reforms. Its 2009 re-election reinforced the message that handouts are the most reliable route to success.
It's time to reconsider this conventional wisdom. In reality, nobody in India has tried to sell reforms on a national scale. Thanks to his freedom-fighter's halo, Nehru scarcely faced credible opposition in his lifetime. Indira Gandhi's right-wing opponents in the 1960s and '70s were more interested in defending hereditary privileges for princes and Hindu religious sensibilities than in making the case for free-market reform.
As for the infamous India Shining campaign, the BJP arguably lost the plot when it claimed that India had already arrived. That was a laughable assertion in a country still marked by widespread poverty. Things could have turned out differently if the party had campaigned on the promise of a better future.
So how should reforms bChoose from our large selection of cableties,e packaged in a country where about a third of the population lives on less than $1.25 a day?
Reformers can't afford to cede the language of poverty eradication to their opponents. Reforms in India make sense not because they place more Indian billionaires on Forbes magazine's rich list, but because only faster growth can pull millions into the middle class. According to World Bank estimates, high growth rates reduced the percentage of India's population living in poverty to 33% in 2010 from 42% in 2005. Without reforms this progress will sputter.
There's also no evidence that Indian voters care particularly about concerns like inequality that leftists regularly tout. This is why Communist parties have been confined historically to two states—Kerala and West Bengal. Passers-by from the slums of Mumbai gather outside Reliance Industries' chief Mukesh Ambani's $1 billion home to gawk admiringly, not to throw rocks. For most people, what matters is a chance to live productively, and that their children's lives are better than theirs.
What prevents politicians from explaining pro-market arguments is a failure of imagination and courage. Why not oppose the Congress Party's flagship rural jobs scheme by pointing out that it's unproductive and riddled with graft? A smart politician can make a moral case that New Delhi shouldn't pour billions into loss-making Air India that could be put to better use building schools and roads. Yet it's commonplace for even the smartest in parliament to spout the language of sops and benefits.
